If I go into a mission and try to move around and shoot things, a significant number of my mouseclicks to fire weapons are ignored by the game client.

If I hold still and this issue occurs, it will ignore all of my mouseclicks that would normally fire weapons until I move my legs again.

I would say it works 'most of the time', but it's pretty annoying.

I've recently updated windows and all drivers.

I had this issue back when MW5 launched, and the 2 or three times I've played since launch for a few days to a week each time.

I play MWO regularly as well, and never have experienced this issue in that game or any other game I've played.

I am familiar with weapon groups and cooldowns. It is not a weapon group issue or a cooldown issue. (e.g. I can see that my lasers are on weapon group 1. I can use my left mouse button to fire them 'most' of the time. I can see the cooldown bar fill up after firing. I can click the mouse 10+ times and it won't fire my weapons. I can start moving around again, and shortly the same mouse button will trigger my weapons fire.)

I have googled this and others have reported the issue as well, though it seems rare. People have replaced hardware with no luck, and others seem to have had mixed results with updating drivers and software etc. Others that have reported the issue report that using buttons on the keyboard to fire weapons works fine even when the mouse is having issues.

Has anyone had this issue and identified a fix?

Here's a video of me demonstrating the problem.

I actually reinstalled the game and removed/installed mods and updated drivers etc. and still had the problem. I ended up having a different problem many moons later and had to reinstall windows. Then the game worked right.

Then many moons passed and I bought an entirely new computer.

Installed MW5.

Had the same bug again.

Uninstalled.

Could be a mouse driver issue then...or maybe energy savings disengages your mouse to soon when it is not moving...btw not moving, isnt there a setting that slows your computer way down when you have no screen action - i dont know the name - but it could also be the issue, or not moving moves the firebutton authority to another device...many things are possible, even that your Mouse is failing - tested another one?

I would say it's probably USB drivers/power save issue/which usb port you use kind of issue. Also maybe dependent on if you get a quality MB or not that has a solid usb pipeline.

Well, i have a Joystick who interferes with my Mouse - you never should underestimate the software side of things!

Plug and Play means nothing but Plug and Pray for a reason...

Even RGB Software can crash your computer and does so frequently bcs of a driver mishmash that conflicts - Corsair Software still suffers from this issue i have heard.

Never ever be sure something is not the issue!
