or other kind of hybrids with still formidable lurm power but some serious LPL instead of those ERML hgn-iic

heavy side I could also recommend ebj-ec as it has stupidly good quirks, no back up weapons though but 2xERML isn't much in the 1st place really.

LRM is great support weapon. But support only.

This game turned in long range sh*t, so lrm support mechs should be in group.

Really I am almost in mood to use err ppc on all mechs, lol.

My 25 ton commandos run almost as much leg armor as your lrm boat, that build is going to be a whole lot of zero fun once you pop out of tier 5 and start drawing people that are beginning to test/recognize weak armored locations.

And most of them have figured out by that point that LRM boat = 2t of ammo in each leg and ammo in the arms - all locations that only have one hitbox and lower armor, even with clans built in case you start stripping into those and you cripple LRM boats on the quick - and if you actively choose to not be right with your team, you are going out of your way to make yourself easy prey for anything.

This. Experienced players know that an ammo dependent build has ammo in the legs. AND you've shaved the leg armor down to dangerous levels. Combine those two and anyone mugging you is going to shoot the legs first for a quick kill.

Plus, that Orion is more than fast enough to keep up with the team, so staying behind and isolating is a choice. One I personally never make.

there is something you forgot.

TREND.

I use this mech when LRM is trending.

half an hour lrm becomes trend. half an hour becomes a ballistic trend. half an hour laser trend. and proper map and position makes a huge difference.

If I'm up and my enemy's down, my legs stay strong.

If there's a building next to me to hide in, my legs stay strong.

I have all kinds of machines. this is unique to this class only.

Don't get too hung up on certain things. Acting and structure are separate concepts. A strong blow kills many light machines.

So anywhere on most of the maps? I guess you are determined to find out the hard way though so, carry on.

This is because of your tier grouping. When you hit 4 and start pulling in tier 3's on a regular basis that will change in any lrm boat you run.

Use comms and ask them.

If you run LRMs you NEED other weapons to compliment them.. A couple of ER large and medium lasers etc to shoot the enemies as you are moving up pasting them with LRMs..

You cannot rely on LRMs alone anymore.

I would keep at least 1 Jump jet which helps massively to get into places, CAP extra sensor range also helps to get own locks from further away... build really should have TAG also to break ECM.

I have stripped my legs since 2012 with everything else than lights/light mediums and 99% of the time it is ok in quickplay, heck I have had push Annihilator with 30 leg armor and it never got legged Posted Image. Legging in T1 at least is pretty damn rare, might be because better players are less of a mech they expose to enemy when they are shooting.

Because im a bit of a dork and cant stand underweight builds, i improved that Supernova, while keeping it the same basic design. Trades the 4ERMLs, 2JJs and a bit of leg armour for 2 ERLLs, Tag, +1DHS and 1/2 a ton more ammo.

I wouldnt drive it personally, because im not a fan of LRM focused builds. I much prefer ATMs but either way mobility is key imo. Getting into good firing positions so that the target has a choice between cover from missiles or cover from direct fire from your team mates, but not both, is worth more than extra tubes. I think mediums or fast heavies do it better.

NP I just upgraded OPs build with XL without changing it really, but yes your version is better overall.

Some of the reason is positioning, when I was previously at the 2/1 line it was also a matter of coordination most everyone just had the common track of called/targeted/fired upon mech, immediately dump ct. Really not much need to think about anything else when every player is shooting for the same box and fairly accurate.

T4/3(5) is hardly coordinated in skill or plan so while you generally still do a deathball-like formation its more like 1v1/2v1 because everyone is doing whatever they are doing. Half the people don't target anything, just fire their SL at 300m the other half shred through armor locations and disable to kill.

- In this grouping I rarely get ct'd directly and burn through almost all my armor and most of my parts. Spreading out 5-600 damage is pretty normal while running a medium mech.
