When I Don't Play For A Few Days.

I'll play a different game, usually a turn based strategy like Battle Brothers or The Last Spell, for example, just for a change of pace. Or I'll draw and paint, and work on my art...
But when I come back to MWO after not playing for 2 or 3 days, I'll launch a game with my locust and those first few games, once the fighting starts, my heart absolutely pounds in my chest, I can feel it- it's not pounded really fast, but it's pounding hard... I get a sick nervous feeling in my stomach, and my neck and shoulder muscles tighten for the duration of the engagement. I can feel the stress this game gives me, and I freakin love it.
No other game stresses me like MWO.

i use xls almost exclusively in lights. more engine more speed, lighter engine more weapons. so its a good way to bring firepower to the enemy quickly. survival is not spectacular, but thats what running lights means. there are a few tankier lights where il take lfe or even std, but those are rare, urbies are the only ones i can think of off the top of my head. clan omnis can also fall into this category for generally having cxls stock.

I totally relate.
I really only get to play Friday night into Saturday morning because , you know, real life. So it's literally a week of inaction.
The first few games is me remembering how to play!
I have to work myself up to jumping in my lights because there is an absolute adrenaline dump, and I ain't getting any younger!
When the thrill ride is over sometimes I'm literally shaking! Love/hate is my best description of playing lights.

But dang it's fun!

Except for me, it's more like "I haven't played in a while, am I gonna go through that **** where I drop almost to tier 3 before I figure out how to play again"

Some people process visual data faster. I can't stand using an assult going under 60kph. It's like the mech isn't even moving so I have to have a frame rate display turned on to know that yes the game is working. Ripping out the std 60 for lfe 190 was first thing I did with my urban mechs and add speed tweek. Compared to urb's stock 32 speed an atlas is blazing at 55 kph.

The moving speed doesn't bother me the little bit I do play lights, just the twitchy cockpit speed - way more so when spectating because I make it manageable for myself but most people are doing the ole flippy floppy like they are running for their lives in a horror movie or something.
But there is truth to the processing, when I started playing I preferred mechs like the Commando over most others now the 60-70kph range feels the most ideal don't even play my faster mediums all that much and the few heavy mechs I do run are definitely in that range.
