

Is 4V4 Solaris Possible?

Solairs was meant for 1vs1 and 2vs2 so they need to make an event style thing of it...

Not like it stopped them from putting 12v12 on the original maps when they weren't even close to big enough for 8v8.

while not technically on S7, and on paper not even remotely similar,
in effect,
it was 'just that' when the right 4men met another right 4men

..it was glorious, until he-who-shall-not-be-named axed that mode completely and for no reason at all.

scouting fine when it was played as skirmish. but the game rules and dustoff mechanics just led to smoke diving and general bad play when it was played as scouting, especially when you get new players taking locust to sneak a win and then come up against a unit and get slaughtered.
also it didnt allow for heavies or assaults. we have event queue now so its easy to roll a 4v4 any weight class solaris like mode. and id rather the solaris maps not go to waste. its a lot easier, more versitile, and will get a lot more traction than just adding scouting back to fp.
id like to see eq eat all the defunct modes eventually on an as scheduled basis. i mean thats what the game has been missing is a way to do diverse things with a simple system.

The factory map is an overloaded cluster-f 1v1, it would be a complete disaster 4v4. The rest of them would probably be just fine. Sheer chaos, but they'd work fine.
