Which build do you think would be more stable?

I was undecided :(

Is it a cold build? Or is it a warm but solid build?

Anyone using a similar build?

Get rid of the XL Engine, use an LFE instead.

I can see the reason for an XL if you are going to play sniper with the erppc's, but why? It's an Atlas!

Never really saw the point in using an assault mech as a sniper.

big machine cocpit is nice. armor is beautiful. It has a motivating structure.

xl engine only tonnage.

I already have 2 atlases that I use for attack. I want to design this as a sniper model with extended arms.

the only reason you use an isxl engine in an assault is if you want to use blitzkrieg tactics. it was pretty common in fp on siege-attack. a full 12 man wave of fast assaults is really something to behold. especially if you were defending with trading weapons, you would be lucky to get a couple shots off before they start smashing. such tactics are suicidal for solo players in qp. most players know to xl check mechs that move a little quicker or have more firepower than they should. so at least use the lfe.

LordNothing we already have a good enough attack tactic as a nation :)

I'm not looking for another tactic :)

A fast motor only makes it faster to go from one cover to another. sometimes you use the other side of the same rock :)

in your language.

Also, snipers are good on the flanks.

such tactics require too much coordination to be viable in qp, and fp is effectively dead. eq could in theory support such things but with group limits being what they are, i dont think we will be seeing any high level tactics anymore.

Make sure there is a big difference between the conscious and unconscious team. :)

When you're playing on a good team, you don't need to state these things. The team already takes that position.

This thread was moved to Assault Mech Builds because it doesn't belon into the Off-topic section.

Neither loadout is particularly good, but to be honest you're trying to use an entirely wrong mech as a PPC poptart in the first place.

Remember that on an Atlas, your arm energy hardpoints are all waist-level so you have to expose most of your mech to enemy fire before you can shoot yourself. It doesn't work, period.

Further, you've got basically no chance to fire those four ERPPCs in flight without absolutely cooking your mech. The closest thing you can pull off is I think 3xERPPC on GHR-5N. Or, if you drop the jump jet requirement, WHM-4L or one of the Awesome variants may be a better fit for what you're looking for.
