its funny, ive seen pixelated text in the steam version but not the stand alone client. it may have something to do with my anti aliasing settings (steam edition is mostly default settings since i don't really need it beyond redeeming steam purchases), but im not sure. ive also seen nasty text last time they had a pts.

Where did you switch the resolution? Did you change it in game?

Lord, If you are utilizing Steam's overlay (or other overlays), that could be affecting the game's resolution.

27in monitors come in different resolutions, size does not guarantee it has native resolution of 2560×1440. If it a 1920 x 1080 and you are trying to scale it up then the game will not look right. What is the brand/model of your 27in monitor? If is a recent purchase and you were expecting a 2K monitor, aka QHD aka WQHD aka 1440p, you may not have been sent the correct monitor

With that said, if it is a 2K monitor, you will need to change your system to that 2560×1440 first, then switch up in the game. I run the game on a 2k monitor (32in).

Sounds like the game is still on 1080p or the monitor isn't 1440p. Lot of missing details.

Oh and as an aside walmart still has these for sale for super cheap. High quality 58" 4k hdr displays.

Bought one a couple of years ago for $300 as a pc display and man its been excellent and perfect for games like this.

I have mine set about four feet away and it perfectly fills my vision giving an almost vr experience and of course open world games look stunning with racing games really coming into their own.

Can't ever see going back to anything smaller.

Only thing is that you need to update the firmware right off for some needed fixes to the color accuracy and to get rid of some minor pixilation on motion.

idk i really don't play the steam version. i just use it because its easier to convert crypto to steam bucks than cash, so ive been using it to buy legendary mechs. as a result i didnt bother setting up the video mode at all beyond the default setting. once i redeemed my mech i alt+f4 and go play on the real client. of course i run at 4k.

Yes i did.. 2560x1440 is apparently this new monitors default.. so i switched it to 2560x1440 and its tiny and unreadable.. even after a restart, i've tried all AA types. Video card is an Rx6700xt 12gb.

Win 10 DPI is at 125%.

Its this monitor.

It is set to 2560x1440 @165hz in Win 10.

Edit
Turns out i fixed it. It was the 125% DPI in win 10 effecting MWO display.. why that would be affecting it is beyond me, but its annoying.. Now i must change the DPI to 100% every time i play MWO.. sigh..

The screen is far too small to see for me at 100% 24/7.

You should be able to right click the mwo exe and set the properties to not use windows scaling.
