yes, hitreg is terribad right at this moment; 2days ago I alpha'd THROUGH a still-standing novacat 3 FRIKKIN TIMES.
but:
a) it's not a light-only thing, as it affects everything and everybody
b.) lights STILL are FAR from invincible and die on the spot to a competent shot.
example: tried my wolfhound-grinner in a highly static game with some good overwatch on the redteam-part.

TLDR:
proper aim is a problem AND a cure to many mwo-related things.

Well, I see this ******* argument has gone precisely nowhere in the 18 months or so since I last looked at this forum.

The solution is the same as it's always been, shoot at them when they show their faces, because if you aren't doing that then you only have yourself to blame for what happens.

you can always NOT shoot them and see where that leads you.

honestly, at this point it's like game of scoccer, basketball or whatever:
"I don't wanna shoot a goal, and YET I lose the match - this is unfair"

there's no logic what-so-ever behind this argument.

to think i just discovered a way of shooting rounds corners with my locust without completely exposing myself but i need to practice/refine

Have you tried shooting at them?

Fighting a medium mech especially one caught out on its own is a free kill.

Let me know how that goes. Don't forget to actually land your shots, too. Makes a huge difference.

I am talking more specifically about how lights can tank more damage than they should be tanking. To me its just amazing how they can take as much damage as a heavy. I am pretty sure they are lights, unless they are meds but the time and time takes to kill one is a bit ridiculous.

You use the broken hit boxes to bait fire. Same with much of the terrain where the hitbox is larger than the visual mesh.

Yesterday had a fun match on emerald vale bouncing around in my spider ended with 4+1 kills (1 DC) and around 500 dmg
i got a flattering message in the end "stfu safe you coward"
i got a good laugh out of it i am split between was it the maruader i critted out or this clan SRM-6 boat i would not face
in the end it took alot of work to pull off

and then next match i got eaten alive by a jenner iic on the same map (i tunnelvisioned)
