Troll Builds That Work Unexpectedly Well.

Arctic Cheetah with ECM and 2 ER-PPC, armor is overrated.
Fle-19 with MRM10 (1 ton) and SN-PPC with a 125XL, that cooldown quirk really makes it rock.

Do they sync up? No.
Are people expecting to get rocked by a double tapped UAC30 when they see the cauldron born? Also no.

Double lppc 20 tonner lights are pretty troll but take some work if you want to rack up large damage numbers. But the effect of the constant crackle of ppc hits on a firing line can be humorous to watch.

I've posted it in the proper section, but it's a dead zone of the forum.

Pretty slow for a medium even with speed tweak (85.2kph), but your 45.2 alpha strike will slap cheeks from 330m and closer. High torso mounted weapons just make this a punishing poptart.
I'm not sure that counts as troll build, that must be like above average build on low tiers...

I got enough of this game being airstrike warrior, its even worse cancer than LRMs, cause from LRMs theres at least few counters.
Love to see that LRM are still trolling to this day...

It's hard to imagine not using armor, but apparently it works if you position well, etc.

My Kodiak-5 with a Clan 350XL engine has 2x C-ER PPC, 2x C-Heavy Lrg Laser, and 6x C-Medium Pulse Laser all in the arms. Every other slot filled with Double Heat Sinks. I have armor maxed out except for 2 points each from each of the three torso slots. No ghost heat.
This thing alphas for 98 damage but the heat it generates will overheat you on Caustic, and bring you to 99% on a frozen map. So set your override to on and be willing to hurt yourself to hurt them. This thing cruises at 56.7 kph, so it's not a speed demon, but quick enough for an assault. If you can figure out how to be sneaky with one of the biggest boys on the battlefield and your aim is steady, I one-shotted the dummy Atlases from behind on the testing grounds. If it didn't do the trick, just fire a second volley of the 6 MPL's. That should finish the job.
If those of you crazy enough to run without armor tried it, you can actually up the engine to a 400XL and add another heat sink and still have one open slot in the head and 5.5 tons of free space to spend on armor and a MK I Targeting Computer if you want, which brings your speed up to 64.8 kph. Should be really interesting once you start throwing the skill tree into the mix. Heat Gen, Range, Laser Duration, Overheat Damage, Cool Run, and Heat Containment should fit your agenda. I bring Advance Zoom because even at close range I REALLY don't want to miss.

One thing I've realized is that buffs make a BIG difference when you are on the fringes.
Fle-19 52% (with skills) cooldown buff gives it the firepower of 2x SNPPC and 2x MRM10 which is well above what most mediums can reasonably carry.
Another is the Urbie 63 with 2 LBX-2 and 2 or 3 er small lasers. The 2x ammo, cooldown, and range buff makes those little 2 LBX2s do crazy damage, if you can keep up sustained fire.

Firepower is unchanged its dps that is increased. Nothing about the alpha damage changes.
I put that fit together and you have to give up too much for too little gain.
If you must use an mrm on it then this seems far more flexible for nearly the same dps.
fle-19
Running a snub fit should also play to the fleas strengths of high speed and small hitbox.

Yeah, it's slower than most people run a fle, (119KPH IIRC?)and you have to drop a little armor, but it has the maneuverability to step in and out from behind buildings and just poke the heck out of people without catching much return fire.
I tried the 100XL too, but it's not survivable when a kit fox can run you down... 125xl has just enough speed to make it survivable.
I've seen people run it with just the single SNPPC, but that's not my style, a adding the MRM10 gives it a 25 alpha, and that is where it is at for me.
Fle with a rac2, takes too much return fire to be survivable.
