Only boated rac2 are worth mounting. Unless you are an urbie. Then its usable.

Nah still **** Posted Image but have you tried similar build that actually doesn't suck? um-k9 feel free swapping SLs to something more rangy but I personally like that extra DPS and insane damage per heat.

320 =|= 540 meters.
there's still a HUGE difference in range, hardpoints or not. and like already said: once you boat racs (and you ALWAYS should, a single one has way too many disadvantages), you can't compete with LMG.

again: it's a silly comparison in the first place, as they play very differently, with different strenghts and weaknesses.

I said engagement range which is typically in the 300~600m range for most typical fights. With range skills the pir fit has a 414m optimal and the flea a 450m optimal for the lmg.

With no ecm I prefer a more ranged style and the rac2 and er meds allow for that while still letting me support the push when needed by blinding cockpits. If I'm going to do a close range urbie I'll just stick to the ecm snub fit.

MG's aren't terribly effective against armor. It takes a long time to wear it down. But it absolutely deletes structure in seconds. One of my favorite kinds of builds has 4xHMG paired with enough bigger weapons to remove armor from a point in one or two alphas. My Dire Wolf is running 4xHMG with 2xAC10 and 5xMPL. I gotta find a way to use terrain to stay out of fire until I get close, but once I'm in range, they drop in seconds. Range skills and quirks help a lot with those MG's where even the minimal gain is a big help.

Isn't that a bit undergunned for a direwolf?
