tonight I was the target of an individual who seemed to think that he had the right to tell me how to play my mech, just because my playstyle was different than his... news for ya mate; not everyone is in perfect health, and that can affect build choices. yelling at me over the comms because you don't like how I play is a waste of time, energy, and effort... I play this game to have fun, not to bend to everybody's wishes.you play your way, I will play mine... don't presume to dictate to me how I play, especially when you do under 75 dmg, and I did several times more than that...

It seems the lootbag event + the other ones run parallel lured out the brain-dead mob... Used to be they were rare in QP, one in every month... Now? One for every ten matches and they are dumber and dumber. Try to tell you how to do while they just lick their own b@lls and underperform even fresh cadets... Or stand against you and accuse you with cheating just because you dared to defeat them face-to-face...
Either mute them or just tell them to prove their ways are better first! If they such weak players, send them back to the ... kindergarten, dunno, they never learn by the way because just to brain-dead for that...

Also PM to that individual might be better way to get your message to him.

Never get on someone about their playstyle. They may be new, they may just not be good at video games, they may have a potato of a PC, anything at all. Just "GG" at the end and move on to the next match. They won't be on your team every game. Posted Image

When you've played for a very long time in this game you can tell when people are being too timid. Com ragers are rare. They usually do far less damage than any one or any thing else in the match. Too busy raging to do any thing else except to be your free meat shield.

I love when guys rage about "nobody" being in the domination circle, but "nobody" clearly includes them!

...and they get pissy when someone points that out. LOL!

I get that, I have spinal damage and I get the shakes on the left side of my body.
However, your post does read to me (I may be mistaken) that you think you can do what you want and everybody else HAS to stomach it, saying nothing to you. Unfortunately this is the internet and people will say things to you, you don't like.
Now, no one should be swearing at you or threatening you. But, sometimes you do stuff that does irritate others i'm guilty of it. When I'm called on it I'll own it.
There are quite a few playstyles here that do aggravate team mates-sometimes quite rightly.

I had a guy earlier, just not pressing R and blamming away, he didn't want the other guy to get a target lock -he wanted that kill.....then accuses me and the other guy of being salty.....made a racist comment about us europeans:(
One guy, was in a domination match on top of one of the structures on the map right over the circle...he watches me and 2 other players die. Won't come down to spread the targets priority of enemy team, just stays on top plinking at them. i keep asking him to help the remaining team mate, he refuses getting arrogant. in the end the enemy team stepped out of the circle because they didn't want to spend next 8 mins of their time.
Another guy, a sniper player. Drives a stealth armour ecm mech. I spectated him watching another team mate die, not firing a single shot as to not give away his position....I called him out on that..he reported me.
Your belief that others should not tell you how to play also applies to you-you also don't have the right to affect other's game experiences.
Sometimes, that rager does have a 100% valid point. When someone has a go at me, my first thought is "did I do something to cause that?" You rightly get upset at others telling you how to play, but please do think on this-what you choose to do in games does affect the other players to. Your belief does work both ways.
That said, what do you think you did that got him to shout at you?

hey OP i say you do what you find the most fun and as long as you are contributing to the match then your good. i have disabilities myself (hand tremors among other things) so i often play LRMs when i want to play MWO but the tremors make it hard to hit the broad side of a Union Drop ship it other weapons. thankfully i play almost exclusively QP so the LRM hate is a whole lot less than in FP. but yeah you get jerks in every game and PvP games in general more than any other type. (hell there are so many LRM haters out there that a number of MWO youtubers have gone on my "do not suggest channel" list even popular ones like TTB, i get tired of him crying when he gets hit by LRM while insulting anyone who uses them)

the only thing i will really ***** about is those lights that run off and hide at the end of a match when the team has lost just to preserve their K/D or some other bullcrap reasons.

so yeah just have fun and ignore the haters. (hell i hate the blue laser fest but i don't gripe at those who choose to snipe)

If you don't like what someone is saying, then just block them. If you find you're blocking a lot of people, then maybe it isn't other people that are the problem.

That just speaks to that guy's being bad at the game. Hitting the R button allows not only LRM support etc but it also would allow him to *LE GASP* see where the enemy is hurting the most so he could target that. The fact he wouldn't use the R button as some lame middle finger to LRMers just mean the dude is basically useless on a team in a team game.

You'd be surprised how many people I spectate that appear to be allergic to hitting R :(

i know what you mean. often when i am spectating i can't help but call out on voice "hey (insert mech here) press R it will tell you where to hit". i am truly surprised how few people actually use the R key. oh and if you remind people at the start of match get ready for the LRM hate to spew out of people.

those who do not press r are not team players. frankly i like to know where to shoot and i don't max out info gathering to make my skill tree look pretty. if somone starts lerming my target, i can ease up on the heat usage, let the lerms soften it up a bit, and still get the coup de grace every damn time.

I'm not gonna say I'm beyond chastizing people over the comms. But sometimes they are right, other times they are wrong.

And they are certainly wrong if they are nascar drivers, and couldn't establish a firing line, and help the slow-*** assault from that pesky light -- or worse, scaleshot.
