Good comparison...just one Piranha foolishly going after our Fafnir,...what could possibly go wrong...

Unless its the low tiers or a solid backstab lights typically don't last that long in a standup fight vs an assault unless its already damaged and near death. Once you hit the higher tiers players know not to panic and just shoot the thing in the legs.

On lower tiers hit a light ANYWHERE helps. Most light pilots retreat after place an alpha anywhere on them. When they are in a safe distance... Use whatever to get rid of them. On low tiers sometimes it is enough if you walk toward your team, most lights won't follow.

Lights are not OP just annoying and usually catch you in the worst time at the worst place... Damn lights...
