I do not understand scouting rewards. I thought it would be using the horrible spotting system but that doesn't seem to always work. I have tried locking them and then spotting, again out of 20 or so spots i get credit for 0-2.
can someone please explain?
thank you

The Scouting reward is given to the first player to share the enemy mech's data with the team either by locking it using R or detecting it with a UAV (which is much more efficient).

This means that there's a max of 12 scouting rewards available in each match. If you want to cheese it, take a fast mech with Active Probe (which extends your sensor range), then try to get ahead of your team and target lock as many enemies first as you can.

Best way is to fit out an ecm raven with all the juicy sensor range bonus and max engine then charge forward and spot away. With skill bonus you get 1600m+ spotting range.

- Put the ECM skills on it, the ECM quirk is a bigger deal than it seems on face value
- Put UAVs on it, not only do they work for the same purpose, you also benefit from its' UAV quirk.
