Stuck here:
But overall I liked the map. Very variable and interesting for brawlers.

I did try the "set brightness to 1" thing and yeah it works perfectly with that setting.
Default brightness should arguably come up a bit as a result. It's plenty murky and full of the blind corners and cat and mouse opportunity without the oppressive gloom.
Though good god the amount of "floor noise" makes driving some mechs through it a royal pain.

Assault events are usually very fun and I usually find myself playing them nearly nonstop for the entire duration (even rescheduling minor things to make more time for the events).
This time however I've found the map to be quite fatiguing. The shape and overall design are pretty decent and I've had some pretty fun engagements. The super low lighting and very heavy fog make playing on the map a straining experience. It's frustrating getting shot by things that you don't see and fatiguing to try to spot things with the current time of day and fog levels. It doesn't make much sense to me to struggle this much to see a 100t battlemech when foot soldiers in other fps night maps are easier to see. You're pretty much forced to change the brightness settings for this map specifically and then the water/sky get super bright to make the terrain slightly visible.
A map like this would make sense back in the beta when heat and night vision had better functionality, but in their current state they're both pretty useless. It's a cool idea but the game doesn't have the systems in place to support it so it just ends up a frustrating and fatiguing experience.
Having to mess with graphics settings depending on what map you get doesn't seem like a great design choice. Imagine if in QP you got this map then frozen city day next and you have to constantly adjust settings to not blind yourself.

The event is a little too short. Might be the 8v8 but it takes time to get slotted in a match. for the scrapyard event and the quickplay queue will take longer than I can wait. When the scrapyard event is over whatever is done that's it. Heavy and Assaults are the most popular classes in quickplay. I prefer the two lowest weight classes for quickplay because I can get matches longer.

when the new map is loaded for the first time, it is shown in pink ---completely including the cockpit..barely playable.
- 1st solution, at the start of the game directly start the map via Mechlab in "training mode", it is loaded in pink but only when you first enter the map, and in training mode it doesn't bother you.

The event itself is well chosen, so you can fill the battle pass of the new legendary mechs quickly and thanks to the 3x EP, new mechs can quickly get 91 skill points.

Sounds exceptionally well chosen to me.

Hopefully this event repeats when the map has been bug fixed and visibility improved significantly!

Hi there, both of you. What you're seeing is a visual bug only. Engines are indeed 50% off right now. If those various Engines were not discounted, you would see some with prices of 4 Million plus currently. The top-end XLs would be 6M+ too.
