For now all the maps have same 8 mechs (cataphract, centurion, jenner, atlas, catapult, cicada, commando and awesome) for target practicing, and only map that actually does have different mechs is the River City. Please replace these default 8 mechs with different ones on some maps, at least on newer ones. It would allow new players to study hitboxes of mechs without needing to refer to forum pages or decompiling the game models just to see their hitboxes.
