I think that if you stew cranberries like applesauce, it tastes much more prunes than rhubarb does.

My first test build had all the JJ and 4 erppc in the arms and pretty much max armor (so no extra heat sinks), It was a bit toasty though.
I like those builds posted, replacing one shoulder for high mount 4x energy is nice solution and only loses one JJ.
I could argue for a slightly different builds (have not mech labbed anything yet), like maybe 2HML, 4HML with lots of heat sinks.
Or maybe 4erppc in the one shoulder, with the arms stripped of armor to put in heat sinks in the other shoulder. Lots of possibilities open up if you put in that 4x energy torso.

Threads like this are a bad influence... I just bought a 3rd Blood Asp, one for LRMS (6xrlm15, tag, ppc, ecm on a BAS-A), one for DAKKA (trial style on a Rancor), and one for Wubbs (BAS-
Looks like the sweet spot (for now) is 5jj, 2xERPPC 5xMPL, it's like wrecking Angus, and chewing bubble gum, but I ran out of gum, have yet to actually use all those JJ, but they are there if I need them.

The Rancor also makes a great LRM platform. It's just the normal BAS-RA with BAS-E arms. I run LRM-20s in the torsos and LRM-15s in the arms, making it a perfectly balanced LRM-100 build. Add a Tag, heat sinks, 7 tons of ammo, a CAP and TC1 and it's almost the perfect killing machine.
Ideally you want to be about 400m away from the enemy in the middle of your group or you'll be the primary target, especially for Lights. You can chain fire the missiles, keeping it fairly cool. That also means it's just one button fire for the Tag and one for the missiles, great for those of us with co-ordination issues.
