the missiles require a charge up delay (ala gauss/rac/hag).
there is no lock on indicator for the missiles.
on release, the missiles insti-lock on whatever mech is in the crosshair (like they did in mw2).
if there is no target under the crosshair, you must recharge to attempt another shot.
like with gauss you can hold the charge for a time, and re-acquire during hold if need be.
you do not have to keep the target in the crosshair for the charging, just the release.
reasoning is that the missile ride an invisible radar beam, so you need to bring that beam on line by holding the button. precharge allows you to fire the weapon more instantly in hill hump situations and allows for better brawling, enabling you to roll damage. having a separate lock mechanic enables better control over lock mechanics for longer range weapons. when used for streak-lrms (if implemented) you can the arc flat so all the mech at the receiving end has to do is get low to avoid being hit.
