The power threshold with the new weapons has seriously altered the game, are we looking at a Nerf soon? I get that MWO has been on a power curve increase, but this is on steroids.

Mw4 shocked me on heavy and assaults class - dying too fast.
MWO just went even further.
But in books, even 50t mech could be destroyed getting 2 PPC alfa.

The upcoming September Game patch should tone down HAGs, add HSL to Blazers and adjust X-Pulse lasers values to make them more powerful.

It seems that we have crossed the Rubicon now. All I see is HAG long range and mid range laser vomit - as if clan wasn't enough now we have IS laser spam on top of that.
On some map (Hyperpuls generator haha) you can hardly show your head, not to speak of move from cover to cover without taking hits.
The TTK feels indeed like counterstrike. Especially bad is it when you play lights which have weapons in their arms. You get them shot off so easily that it is ridiculous
There is zero reason to use short range weaponry anymore because e.g. HAGs are deadly at close range as well and ERLL, PPCs etc aren't shabby on targets which took initial hits by getting close either.
Like short weaponry, DPS weapons are equally affected. RACs are hardly to be seen anymore, regular AC/5s are also rare unicorns, x-oulse lasers were DOA and the list goes on. What they have in common? Those are weapons which need facetime - and facetime is deadly in the game, unfortunately not for the target but for you because you get enormous damage easily from 700+ m from other enemy mechs once you engage your target.
Geeez...that happens when comp players who are avid sniper fans do weapon balance.

Both those games had tabletop values, you could delete things in a single shot easily. Rose tinted glasses are not your friend.

The game just needs defensive equipment, the raw firepower even with structure and armor quirks/skills is absurd.
Reactive armor, non-guardian angel ecm, blue shields, reflective armor, hardened armor, etc.
The combination of existing defensive equipment along with the tonnage/crits to slow raw alpha damage will massively improve the overall gameplay.
Also, in TT, Targeting computers and large pulse lasers with through armor critical and + hit meant mechs would get cockpitted on a single turn. People will also min-max but MWO PGI has the abiilty to bring back slower paced play that doesn't make long range sniper/laser boats the best choice.

The problem is with reflective armour...it makes you more vulnerable to ballistics https://static.mwomercs.com/forums//public/style_emoticons/default/wink.png
Angel ECM? MWO's ECM is basically an Angel ECM https://static.mwomercs.com/forums//public/style_emoticons/default/smile.png
Apart from that I agree...the TTK is horrible. It also favours sniping btw. Some years ago, you were able to take some shots from snipers and were reasonable well to do some brawling. Today you take simply too much damage if you are active right from the start. Usually you need to sit tight and wait. However, that means your team is basically one mech down for that time.
Anyway, if the September patch doesn't change things, I simply quit till new weapons come out (most likely they will cater to the snipers again, though) and play Baldur's Gate 3 and have some fun.

HAG gets an overall buff. Slightly longer delay between pellets but better dispersion so tighter groupings. The heat nerf of itself won't stop anything but boating it with very hot weapons and even then it will simply reduce sustainability.
