As an old player returning after many years away this is my first loyalty reward program. I’m happy the game is still alive and is even receiving updates so I wanted to make some purchases to support it. While looking through the store and the reward categories I came to this inevitable conclusion: most of the normal mech packs now feel like a rip-off to be direct.

Let’s give a very generous comparison:
Standard mech pack on sale for $14
-3 standard c-bill mech variants.
-3 mech bays.
-30 days active premium.
-warhorns, badges and cockpit items which there is apparently no way to preview at all (why the heck not????).

VS.
Legendary mech, no sale, $15
-Unique mech with unique hard points and paint job, 30% cbill boost.
-1 mech bay.
-14 days premium.
-3000 MC.
-colors for the mech (unclear if these apply to all mechs).
-7 million cbills.
-Badge, title, warhorn etc and you at least get a look at them.
-bolt on.
-some gsp, cool shots whatever.

The value comparison is extremely unfavorable for the standard mech packs and that’s with them on sale. Going up to the “collectors” on sale for $28 the value comparison is even worse. And this is with a 30% sale on the old packs.

Legendary mechs & battle passes are a great way to continue monetization of the game. But the old style mech packs should have their prices decreased so they line up. I think this would overall increase sales for the game because most players spending money are probly people, like me, who are doing so mainly to support the game.

But no one wants to spend money and feel like they’re getting ripped off. And picking out things to buy for the loyalty reward program, that’s how I feel when considering buying the normal packs vs the legendary mechs. In case it wasn’t clear this isn’t a complaint post. It’s genuine pricing feedback from someone who’s happy to spend money on the game, but doesn’t want spending that money to feel like a scam based on the games own pricing structures.

I just wish that there was an amount say $15 or whatever and that qualified you for a reward mech of your choice. I only want one, the jenner, but the ones I already qualify for I don't really want. If I could I'd just assign the reward for my legendary mech to the jenner. And to get the jenner I can't get one of the legendaries that actually look interesting. I have to get a pack or a hero that I already have.

The entire MWO Store sucks.

The Mechpacks are ridiculously overpriced and they always have been. For the price of one Mechpack with a few sucking 'Mechs you can get a full good game in many web game stores.

On top of that, you must buy the entire Mechpack filled with junk 'Mechs, that you do not want, to get just one 'Mech that you actually would like to buy and use.

This alone serves as the best proof that PGI is absolutely incapable of learning anyting. Do you remember how players hated that stupid system that forced the players to buy and play three different 'Mechs just to skill up the one 'Mech that they wanted to use? Essentially, PGI still keeps this system in the Store.

Ditto for those Platinum 'Mechs. Still the same worthless system that forces the players to buy 'Mechs that they actually do not want.

Sometimes that pricing is beyond ridiculous: To get the Invasion Vulture, you have to spend 360 dollars. To get just standard Vulture with a different skin ...

Add all those convoluted Deals, Collections, Packs, Bundles, Reinforcements and I do not know what else ...

The entire idea of those "Reward" 'Mechs is foolish too. To get just one reward 'Mech that I actually want, am I really supposed to buy or re-buy a ton of mostly worthless junk that I either do not want or I already own? Just offer them in that Store with "reasonable" pricetag, so everybody can buy exactly the 'Mech that he wants, anytime he wants, and without having to buy a tun of junk that he does neither want nor need.

The pricing for old outdated, esp is, mechs is really bad. I mean for $5-10 in world of warships you could spend 900 dubs to make almost any ship you like be the equivalent "hero" of an mwo mech. Mwo dosn't have any thing like that even when it's been suggested in various ways over the years to let us pay x to make any mech we want into a "hero."

The main reason I quit was no new light mech chassis and the meta being so long range and anti-lrm/light mech bias. The joke of "reward legendary" Jenner just proves that anti-light mech stance so much to me. One lousy E hard point in a known light that sucks and is easy as f to kill. It makes the spdr 5v look good.

Give me a reason to bother spending money or time with this game.

yeah al that money for a bunch of c bill variants you can get ingame wich older players mostly have already is a big turn off.
they should separate those from the special variants at least, i already own most of things in store by now anyway i really can't justify spending much more on useless fluff.
and unlock mech after destruction, it only hurts new players and people who want to have fun gettin good at one mech, probably speeds up matchaking a bit too, because a lot of people like me will wait for their mech.

You can just buy the cheapest MC offer and already qualify for a Hero . To me, thats especially attractive when a 'Mechbay Sale is on while MC are on Sale ( I think 30% Bonus atmo ) AND reward programme is on .

I would love for them to redo the first Clan Invasion pack and just allow us to buy those old mech pack separately at a cheaper price, and it be a nice way to sneak in new variants in there plus getting the special invasion camp, because right now the a la carte can't get the 30% off on sales because coding restrictions or something for the sales page.
