RAC's currently have one incredibly irritating issue that nearly no other weapon can really compete with
Visual Noise
getting hit with 2/3/4 RACs at once can make it IMPOSSIBLE to see where you're being hit from, or even really where to aim in general. Proposed fix:
Make the explosion from RAC projectiles much smaller (why is it so big anyway??)

If you cant see anything under cockpit attack and cant avoid it, use heat vision.

it also helps to walk into the projectiles rather than backpedal. this puts the bulk of the effects in progress cleanly behind the forward clipping plane where it wont be rendered. where as you back up it puts all the effects right in your face. direct approach is less advisable, i usually do a diagonal vector such that the distance between you and the target are always decreasing but while adding a lateral motion so you are not a sitting duck from their perspective. and this vector should put you into cover somewhere, where you can trade during their spin up delay.
and believe you me the guy wielding the rac cant see **** either. they put so much crap in the air that its damn near impossible to see where you are aiming after you have been spamming for a second or two. you may start out with perfect aim, but you lose that very fast. so maybe some revision of effect bitmap opacity and particle size/count is in order.

If you shoot until you jam with 3xRAC2 or 2xRAC5 you have also done loads of damage to enemy. They do have pretty good DPS if enemy lets you shoot them few seconds. Like this silly kgc-000b Two pretty bad weapon systems, but how many seconds you want to be drilled by this?
But yes they could use bit more love, maybe a bit shorter spool time

RACs are not especially great weapons. They do not have too many advantages and that visual effect is one of them. Without it, they would be probably used even less.

That assumes the target stood there like a moron and soaked up all the damage.
Even assault sniper turrets are smart enough to move usually.

You would be surprised how many morons there is in this game.
And it takes few seconds for an assault mech to poke around corner and get back into it. With minor counter push 4-5 second of dakka time is pretty easily achieved.

With everything going on with the new weapons recently, looking at RACs for changes now would seem very low priority.

Depend on your target you either be good and supress your target into cover or get face-punched because the facetime they need. On paper they do sh!tload of damage (put two on a mech and the stats show your damage would over 100 BUT NOOOO!!!) but what is the truth? They meme-stuffs mostly. I use them on some mechs for fun (anyone here crazy enough to consider a 4xRAC2s JagerMech a viable design?!). RACs are pretty weak if you face someone who not fill his pants as soon as the cockpit starts to flash.
I even dare to say that RACs need some buff to became a weapon worth to carry into REAL matches. Lower tiers are full of RACs because many not understand how they trully work <== put four on a KGC, top it with an XL engine and wonder! It's not me who's a cheater, boy, sorry...
And as Ignatius said wisely: RACs compared only by X-pulzorz 'cause both weapon-branch are *@*@* "oh-oh-oooh"...

So my problem along with that. is that the RAC does not jam enough you can get 100+ damage out of a RAC2 without jamming the gun should have a chance for the gun to jam while the bar is filling not after it's full.
The damage of a rac 2 is like insane 6.55 PER SECOND
Rac 5 damage is 10+ PER SECOND this damage is insane for a gun that never jams unless the jam bar is full.

Racs jam waaay less than Uac....
You know the part where he said they need a nerf is clickbaity right? I was just trying to get attention he doesnt think they actually need a nerf. The fact that you unironically do is a problem.
