so recently I had to face down what I thought was an easy kill; a Jaeger Mech with an open CT that was already yellow

so I put 200 RAC 5 rounds into it at point blank range

and he....took 0 damage!

anyone else ever seen this happen?
(He was also their last surviving man, and highest damage dealt in the match!)

Could have been latency? If either you, him, or the server got de-synched it might have looked like he was standing somewhere where he wasn't. Apparently that's the reason why hit detection on fast mechs can be wonky. I feel like I've been seeing more and more people talking about experiencing this just in general in the past couple of months.

Both of us had great ping and multiple other people noted being unable to hurt him after his CT went yellow

He was also stationary, moved maybe 6 times total in the match, and hauled in 1500dmg?

I once saw 24 SRM missiles go through an opponent and impact the canyon wall behind him. I saw a match with TTB and his shot went through the other mechs arm with no damage.

It happens sometimes and it sucks.

Had such problems just recently in several matches. First it was Hunchback vs 2 Assaults (including me), that refused to die before ripping my legs off. 172 armor + internal structure, yeah. Then it was Nova, that used JJs into building's wall, got completely stopped, but survived several point blank MRM40+4xML hits, despite of having all armor stripped.

The nova was getting dsync'd by the physics bug and when a mech is in that state it can be invulnerable to incoming fire yet still able to fire back. Got a hax accusation once because my flea had gotten stuck to terrain and an assault was firing into me almost point blank with no effect.

When I play my 2xSPPC Urbie I see it quite often that PPC bolts pass through an enemy mech and nothing happens. More rarely they explode and the enemy takes no damage.

I see this sort of thing happening all the time. Were you on Old Forest Colony? I might have been one of the people who was watching you when it happened. Another good reason to spectate, I might add. When your reticle goes red, but the enemy's paper-doll doesn't change after dumping 60 pts. of damage into them, more importantly they are a stripped stick and they don't die, that's ****** hit reg.

OP is not alone. I've seen it all over the place. It's always been an occasional problem, definitely worse now. It's not just this weapon or that mech. It's yet another (along with problem maps and this whole config fiasco) reason why this game just isn't deserving of serious credibility with competitive gamers at large.

Yet another thing PGI can fix in MWO2.

Had it happen the other day. Was On Tourmaline in a Jenner with 6 ermeds and fired at an open ct of a slow moving heavy at close range and nothing registered at all. I recall a few other shots earlier in that match not registering as well. Didn't happen again after that.

You need to aim the projectiles correctly so they hit the correct component. https://mwomercs.com...ocalization-2/. Try moving your crosshair to where the mech's CT is, and then click there. If they are further away, you may have to lead the target, so shoot where they will be. Remember, practice makes perfect.

my brother in christ I was dead center on his CT. Not a single component on him took any damage. under 70m engagement range

Actually seen this cropping up more for some reason. The old sync bug has been around since game launch, but it's very infrequent; seen this happen multiple times in the last fews days.

Had this happen last night. We were chasing down a cicada and he shut down on an overheat so we just reamed him good into the open ct and it wouldn't die. At least not right away and we put at least a hundred points of damage into him.

I told them not to buy those cheap Best Buy blade servers and run the game out of there office HAHA. There is so much packet loss from server to client it is unreal. and really the only way to fix this situation would be to place the game on a good top of the line US server and the packet loss would be 1/8 of what it is now.

I know this from my ISP as I have worked with them to fix this issue and it can only be fixed on PGI's end so out of 10 packets sent from my client to their server I lose 4 packets with every action I do in game. This means I do less damage and what I'm seeing in game is not a correct vision of where my enemies are which is very erratic game play and less damage and kills for me..

I suspect 99% of this has to do with connection. I was playing last night with a ping of about 250 and I was absolutely piling on C-ERPPC shots into a Javelin at very close range with no noticeable effect. Not sure if there's much to be done about it or if its worth worrying about though...

was in comp and after this locust got legged he would not die my ally hit him with srms 3-4 times and only after i small pulsed his open adn 1 touch leg did he die.
