For those of you that Watch MWO content, why do you watch Videos
On the game? Any specific reasons would be helpful. Also mention if your
New or been around awhile.
Most of you probably don't know me but I have been making mwo content
For along time now. I'm definitely an underdog on the charts and Just curious

Because even though I make MWO content I never watch many videos on it. I don't need
Build ideas. And I usually can't sit through a full match video with interest.
It boggles my mind that ppl watch me and I really wanna know why ppl watch MWO

Because I'm bored/procrastinating and someone posted a video in the Outreach sub or here. No other reason.

I only watch Sean Lang and sometimes Data, and only the videos that they have something to say.
I don't watch gameplay videos.

I watch a few content creators because I'm part of their twitch or discord community. And as a guy with a desk job, watching longer videos or streams is something I can do while I'm at work.

I never turn down a build idea video, even if its not one I'd run, just to see what's possible. I like the streamers that don't just publish wins, because seeing the losses gives you a better feel for the mech and the map. And watching how other people react and have battlefield awareness helps keep me from making assumptions in my own game play.

IMHO

I use to watch ttb and the beef as they are some times entertaining. From stats on my own yt stuff mwo video's always rate the lowest so I quit recording and posting mwo clips or game play.

i generally dont. i might watch the final match in mwowc, but i always found spectator sports to be a waste of time, would rather just play the game instead.

well.. can't be ar$ed to do the potatoe-rotatoe too often, so I don't play too much mwo at all - for years.

however, some mechpron now and then is entertaining to watch, as battletech is hardwired into me.
youtube is an 'easy fix', I guess ;)

I watch because it saves me the time booting up the game, the long-*** waiting for a drop, and only to get a dumb match involving teammates that would-nascar.

i don't watch a lot of YT content for MWO to be honest. most of the time those that make it are T1 snobs that think their play style is the only one (ie LRM Hate). i will sometimes watch a vid if its on say the latest patch or like right now about the new weapons but its more for the sake of info than anything else because they might point something out about a patch that i missed. i rarely ever get any build ideas anymore from the most popular MWO YTers so thats another reason not to. the new weapons really don't need much in the way of build ideas to be honest (i don't play clan so don't care much about HAG other than avoiding it, and BLCs are the only IS weapon added worth taking right now and you just treat them like 2 LLs)

now if there was a content maker that made did more unusual builds or did something fun then i might watch them. just get tired of the same stuff constantly.

I used watch MWO content because of the content creator. I used to love Baradul aka Molten Metal, but he stopped playing MWO and it even seems he deleted or renamed his account.

I like that his tone of voice is normal, he narrates his tactics, decisions and match very well as he plays. He doesn't get pissed off, or seem arrogant like TTB. He just seems like a nice guy who's good at MWO and enjoys playing it.

On very rare occasions I will watch if there's a big preview or upcoming patch and someone talks about it like Sean Lang, but I do this rarely lately.

Hmm, perhaps it’s time for me to go lurming again. I don’t think I did a video on those yet.

I used to watch The b33f because he was fookin' hilarious. Seriously, there will never be a funnier MWO video than the Direstar-ar-arrrr. Nowadays I like to watch TTB and listen to him complain about being shot at while he's trying to do his thing, and Critical Rocket because I like his presentation style.

I might watch a gud streamers video if its on a mech build I'm interested in or giving comments on some game changes but overall I don't watch them. I do watch gud twitch streams of the game but again thats only for sync dropping when I'm actively playing. I just don't have much time to waste on consuming spectator content. I crave action not a bowl of popcorn.

i used to play regularly with Snugglestime back in the day (he used to do a good bit of MWO content but dropped off the map when he had his kid). had some fun matches back then but that was a LONG time ago

I stopped quite a long time ago by now as the game diverges more and more from a gameplay i would like to see - now and then i stumble over a new vid from NGNGtv or TTB and that is mostly revolving around MW5 and not MWO anymore.

This is why the few halfway successful streamers stopped streaming the game.

Been around since open beta (missed closed funding by a week) - the truth is this game basically the same game as beta with more skins. For some games that might be a good thing, for a game that desperately needed playable depth even in beta it keeps the game in a quite stale state.
