I think a file got corrupted or something, and the system repaired and set it all to default.

You mean your game settings? You can.
EDIT:
They should be here:
C:\Users\User\Saved Games\MechWarrior Online\Profiles\Poor_No_Culture
(Of course, the location depends on the exact configuration of your PC.)

Check this location:
C:\Users\User\Saved Games\MechWarrior Online\Profiles\Poor_No_Culture
Copy that folder and save it to some safe location.

I have almost ever button customized, so it's a pretty big mistake. LOL.
Now I am VERY careful to click accept, not reset.

Was such a weird decision. I mean, it sounds like it makes sense I guess, but I've never seen anything other than Win7's built-in Chess game save anything there. Then again, most of the games I have are either older where they save to Program Files or even their own folder off of C:\ or somewhere buried in Steam's hierarchy.

At the time it wasnt. And with it in that location one could log into their account either via Steam OR the standalone and not have to duplicate/copy their settings. overs since it is "centralized" Same with screenshots, shaders, logs patcher info, UI (mech icons), UIWebDownloads (the items that pops up when one first logs into the game. Thus not duplicating everything in all of those folders.

There are many UI elements that would deserve to be changed or adjusted. Unfortunately, I do not think that it will happen.
