Is there some sort of bug or server instability which causes loss of damage registration? Playing on Vivic (that map with the big top level) and I flanked a hunchback and hit him repeatedly with locked on ATM and at the end of the match after all that I did 53 damage despite it registering I hit him every time.

Were you hugging him? Both ATM and LURMS have minimum arming distance where you deal no damage because the missiles aren't actually exploding. I believe for ATM it was 90m? While for lurms 130ish?

Correction, it was 60 for ATM and 180 for LURMS. Numbers hard Posted Image

Nah if you can imagine, he was on the enemy side of the raised "bridge" just past the double slope in the middle, I was on one of the buildings to the right of it firing in at a 45 degree angle, the hits were registering but it seems the damage wasn't occurring. I was at least 600m away from him.

1. Minimum range
2. For long range fire, he could have hidden behind obstacles.
3. You lost the lock, which causes missiles to turn into dumbfire missiles heading at the last known location.

None of that applied, I was outside min range, over 200 away, even IS missiles would hit, he was outside in the open on the raised platform there was no cover, I had the lock it was directly hitting him, I also had a tag on him at the time. My build is a Vapor Eagle with 2 ATM 12s with a tag and other lasers.

I asked him at the time if he was receiving damage but didn't get a reply, my team said it might have been because the server was Oceanic, but I still tend to do ok with a roughly 200 ping playing on there.

That's why.
ATM do reduced damage at "long" range.

It wasn't massively far away I was on the building right next to the middle rise, ATMs have a big range but even at max I'd do more than 53 damage with 3 full salvos, that's 72 atms hitting him.

If you were 600m away, the ATMs are in the 3rd damage bracket, which is very bad (1 per missile), so its possible a combination of AMS (?) and not all missiles hitting (eg some hitting terrain) makes that terrible damage possible. Its only a max of 24 per salvo at that range

Dont use ATMs outside the 2nd range bracket. Its not worth it.

The 600 is just an estimate, I was on the buildings right next to the bridge, I've done way more damage than that before at similar distances to where I was.

Without a video showcasing it, i cant tell you more. If you have an Nvidia graphics card, i recommend setting up 'share' so, if you get weird things like this happen, you can save the video and review it.

For what its worth, i havent noticed hitreg issues with locking missiles much / at all, so its probably something else.

Just noticed the thread title mentions three salvos. From 2 ATM12s, thats only 72 115 dmg maximum unless its within the 1st or 2nd range bracket.

Could maybe have just been a case of being slightly outside the good range brackets and had 50% of the missiles miss due to spread / terrain / AMS.

edit: just checked and i was wrong, ATMs do 1.6dmg per missile in the 3rd bracket, so its still weird.
