Recently returned from a somewhat extended hiatus. I've been browsing through my mechs and I've come across several with a big ol' red INVALID banner but not much else information being provided by the Mechlab interface. WTH is up with these (formly valid, I assume) builds?

BTW, nice to see that PUG drops are still for the most part unruly insanity...

Could you list those 'Mechs, please?

Anyway, I think that I kmnow the answer:

Approximately two years ago one patch changed the armor allocation one some 'Mechs (Cicada, Stalker, JagerMech, Jenner, Jenner IIC), thus making them invalid in some cases. Are you sure that this is not the case?

The invalid message is a bug in the fittings. Remove a few points of armor and save the fit then add them back in and it should fix it.

Thanks for the suggestions. One of the mechs listed was a Jaeger so I'll look at what you've both said and post result here.

Yup, fiddling with armour seems to have fixed the few I've tried. Thanks very much!
