ok. It's been close to nearly five, maybe six years, and still the Supernova Assault `Mechs still bear the designations of A and B.

So why has there been no attempt of making the proper changes over to the equipment and weapons loadouts, and with that, changing the designation over to 2 and 4.

A variant is the same as the Supernova 2:

All the same hardpoints, but not the same weapons.

The 2 mounts 4 ATM-9s with six tons of ammo, 2 ER LL, and Type II Targeting Computer. Five x2 Heats round out the package. 2 in the Right Arm, 3 in the Left.

While the B variant is the Supernova 4:

The 4 has the same weapons hardpoints as the B with the only difference in weapons, ER Medium Lasers instead of Heavy Medium Lasers.

That's all that is needed to make the necessary changes. No need to remove hardpoints, or add more. They each have the same hardpoints and characteristics. So why hasn't this been done already?

My friend, these are indeed extremely important matters and I will pop a team meeting in the calendar to seek a resolution on this as soon as possible.

Less sarcasm, but same point to be made. The small stuff isn't on the list of monthly changes at this point. And given how the game is coded and the database is strung together, changing the name might not actually be a small change, they might have to make that little change in a lot of different places.

And that right there is how you end up with corrupted database references.

If MWO's DB was designed at all sensibly the name is stored in precisely one place and everything else just references it.

If.

It would require manpower and resources, while not contributing directly to the profits.

And assuming the back end doesn't use something depreciated like DB2, Foxbase, 123, or Crystal Reports. No one born after 1990 knows how to code in those anymore. MS SQL and current skillset products didn't come around until 2008, and the game was coded in 2011.
