I had a realization earlier... What if PGI map developers did a study into Paintball arenas? Check out how they are designed with respect to "spawn points" and cover.
And seriously, I want to see a more linear map where the two teams are forced to meet head-on with limited flanking options. Maybe a massive Canyon/Chasm, some spread out cover from outcroppings of stone across the floor, and maybe a few ledges/tunnels for smaller 'Mechs to navigate?
