No thats not how privacy works. You can't say an open doors meeting is closed doors because you refused to walk through the open doors. If you want to be privy to those conversations nothing is stopping you except for you. That is emphatically, a you problem.
Ever hear of behind closed doors?

I am just thinking telling people who go "I can't read/participate in the discourse on [platform] 'cos [resons]" "Well, your fault!" is not rly a good way to keep people in the Loop/get them involved .

People posting stuff having been published on discord help . People going "Why don't you get on discord ? Your fault if you don't!" - don't .
Why can't they use the game forum?

you tell that to the login screen.

are you saying i require two luxury items? isnt that a little unreasonable? keep your wealth standards to yourself.

when they support totp authentication for 2-factor i will think about using their system. sms is a known insecure method, its only used as a means to farm personal information at the expense of your security. you can get an open source ttop authenticator in your browser. security requires a thing you have and a thing you know, well i have a computer and i know my password, and time based security is another layer on top of that.

i know how the tech works, im not one of those cellphones cause cancer idiots. the real damage is sociological in nature. ive had network security classes and understand what is at stake. gamers are just such instant gratification monkies that they will never understand. just because the general public is willing to buy into this grift on the part of the technocracy, does not mean that i am.

this goes well beyond being able to interact directly with the cauldron. thats small potatoes. but their choice of venue is far, far more questionable than their balance decisions.
indeed why do they hide their balance decisions behind another door?

because forum is total garbage? I don't mean the brown sweet aspect. But from technical perspective sharing files, pictures, voice, video...

Its not closed doors. Their discussions are held on a publicly accessible platform. You can't just say it is and assume that makes it true.

Because they prefer to use discord. Perhaps they prefer the features discord provides, and regardless, the world does not revolve around you and your personal preferences.

They aren't.

Stop saying they are.

If you continue to say they are hiding behind closed doors when in reality they are not, then you are lying on purpose. You have been told multiple times now that they are not hiding their discussions behind closed doors and you continue to say it. I can interpret that in no other way except that you intend to deceive people.

Saying Discord isn't public because you have to do stuff to get a membership and can lose access is nonsense. The same is true of your local public library.

Its there if you want to use it. It doesn't require anything that the game doesn't already require (internet connection and a computer.)

We know you're just salty because you irrationally dislike the cauldron and your nitpick is obviously silly. You're not fooling anybody.

cauldron is fine, its discord i don't like. i also think its a choice between them working on balance and nobody working on balance. remember those sparse patch notes with nothing on it. that's what it would be month after month if not for the cauldron. i might disagree with them sometimes but they do deserve at least some thanks.

Ah well I am also not a fan of the program, lol. I wish there were better alternatives that were still accessible (I'm forced to use it for work too.)

open source would be a good idea but they have a horrible habbit of reinventing the wheel. id reccomend one but there are so damn many of them. instead of doing this:

and focus on making one of them usable for normies. this also is a problem with linux distros.

Those competing standards are more a question of capital than anything else.

Microsoft doesn't rule the office setting because it's good, it rules it because it has such a dominating market share it's virtually a monopoly. The alternatives aren't much more altruistic.

The profit motive and software licensing ruined computers and the internet.
