Hey folks,
So... here is the deal.. i have this really strange bug where after initial login, while on mechbay screen and its say loading, it will sometimes just pop back to login screen and display error "Disconnected from Server". This will also sometimes happen when clicking on social button, and game freezes and disconnects me.
Now here is the really weird and buggy part.. it kills my network. Like it kills all the connections, even network adapter breaks, cant restart it, switching from lan to wlan doesnt work, like nothing i do can fix it. Only thing i can do is to restart PC and network comes back working again. Worst part it actually hangs the PC in shutdown state (Windows shuts down, but fans are spinning etc..) and i have to manually cut power to the pc for it to be able to restart again.
Note that this only happens with MWO. In my 30 or so years i never encountered such a bug...
So far i have done following:
1. Updated GFX, chipset, network drivers
2. Setup Google/CloudFlare DNS
3. Reconfigured my entire network, disabled all the adapters im not using.
4. Tried using user.cfg, disabling it, doesnt matter if i use it or not.
And nothing helps. Sometimes it will load without disconnect, sometimes it will dc me couple times in row and every time i have to manually power off my pc, turn it back on and try again..
Any ideas ?
Weird Bug When Loading Game

This is weird indeed. Could it be that your AV is not playing nice?

Well, the obvious, have you run the repair tool/checked the file integrity/made a fresh reinstallation?

Just for clarification, when you say it kills your network, does this include the router/modem/gateway, to where other devices are not able to connect to the net, or is it only with that one computer?
Are you utilizing a VPN. Found a few posts where VPN was causing issues.
Boot Windows into safe mode and test. Besides a VPN, another program may be initiating the issue.
Prevent Windows from turning off the network adapter under that adapter's Power Management Tab.
Is the network adapter part of the motherboard or is it an aftermarket adapter? And it is wired or wireless? Does if wired, does your motherboard/computer have the ability to connect via wireless?
If you have updated the chipset/adapter drivers from the manufacturer, it is possible that the hardware itself is failing due to heat, power issues, or chipset itself. If you have access to another network adapter, use it for testing.

I have a router thats wifi capable and acts as a switch as well, its directly connected to PC via Ethernet Cable. When this happens, only my PC loses network, other devices connected to router work fine. When it bugs out, switch to wlan (i also have wifi chip on MB) doesnt help either. My network adapter never failed, nothing else caused any issue whats so ever, only MWO when it disconnects. I dont use VPN.
I unfortunately dont have any spare USB or PCI network adapter to test it with.
Here are the MWO logs entry, it mentions failed VOIP and Error loading FactionQueData while loading Mech Bay (the initial loading screen after a successful login.

That portion of that Omnicron log is normal. Did you do a OS reinstall? You would would need to email Techsupport but unless there is another software conflict,
As for if the adapter failing or not failing, in the OP, -- it kills my network. Like it kills all the connections, even network adapter breaks, cant restart it, switching from lan to wlan doesnt work, vs most recent post - My network adapter never failed
And when you check Device Manager and the appropriate network adapter, working/not working, what error did it provide when not working? And to just confirmed when running Run the Network Troubleshooter, what info did it provide?
There are a ton of threads across a ton of forums/Reddit about "when playing games network adapter stops working on pc" but even that, MWO does not push out high traffic. The only items MWO could impact is the power it causes CPU/GPU to potentially pull, as well as the heat that those components generate. Otherwise, while playing MWO, another program is being triggered that is causing your network adapters, ethernet and wifi, correct?, from connecting, but they are still connecting to the router, correct??
And depending on the answers above, has the router been completely bypassed and connect your computer directly to the modem? And the modem itself, is just a modem or a is it a gateway (combo modem/router)?
And desktop or laptop, system configuration, including motherboard info.

Ok, so it turns out my Motherboard indeed has two adapters, i tried the other one and it works fine !
Second adapter was older one that only supports 1gb, while new one i was using supports 2.5gb. So maybe MWO has trouble with new adapter and its drivers.
Anyway, its fixed now.
