Bap + Tag Can't Counter Ecm?

2 mechs near me, one with ECM under stealth and the other in the ECM bubble but doesn't have its own ECM and my BAP + Tag can't counter either one of them?

Since when???

Why are stealth mechs immune to any kind of targeting/lock counter?

Are you close enough to be in the ECM bubble as well?

If you're inside the radius of the ECM, TAG or not, your missiles are simply jammed.

If you're outside of the ECM, then TAG can cut through the ECM and your missiles, not simply jammed by the ECM, can then lock.

BAP will cancel out ECM, but cannot cancel stealth armor. Therefore if the ECM mech has stealth, it and its nearby buddies cannot be cancelled. Lovely, ain't it?

I believe the stealth armour immunity to BAP is only provided to the mech mounting it, not to friendlies within the bubble.

You're wrong. BAP cancels one ECM, not its effect.

yea strange, I was with in the 180m limit of both mechs and neither was target-able for me. nothing else was around. the non-stealth mech was acting like ECM was stopping me from getting a lock.

best way to counter ecm is with mr ppc.

Tag counters stealth but its timer based and you have to hold a solid bead on the target till the timer expires and stealth is busted and forced into its own recharge timer. It seems to be effected by range with the closer you are the faster it busts stealth.

TAG doesn't deactivate stealth. It just makes the painted mech targetable.

Ah been a while since I last ran a stealth mech with any regularity. I always remember the recharge bar refilling after getting tagged then but that was a long time ago when I was running a grey camo stealth locust hoping for hpg ala the beefs meme videos. I just use regular ecm and stay outside detection range nowadays. All the benefits of stealth without the negatives as long as your weapons optimal is outside of detection range.

Oh and as an aside since the ecm bubble radius is getting nerfed in a coming patch thats a direct buff to backstabbers with extreme short range weapons since the jamming effect will start at 90m instead of 120m.

Another temporary ECM nerf to sell LRM 'Mech, that will be reverted after that? Ok. But it would be good, it radar derp would also be nerfed. For now it just can't be countered. Lock can't be instant. It takes time even with all bonuses. And instant loss of lock due to any tiny obstacle - lock on weapons are completely neutered. It's too OP and should be nerfed by at least 10%.

Ah, but 95% maximum radar derp! So your 4 second lock duration drops to... 0.2 seconds. But with all the skill nodes you can pretty much DOUBLE that to 0.4 seconds! Which is why the LRMs fly so slow... they'll never cover the distance in time. Posted Image

As far as I know TAG and BAP can only counter one single ECM, so if there are two ECM mechs in each other's range then you can't get through both.

This is why, when I play missile boats, I play splat builds. I don't want to get stuck HAVING to have to a lock in order to fire my weapons. I want to be able to see the target in range and fire.
Though hitting fast moving targets with missiles is hard. They tend to dance through the rain.
