just curious as to what builds people have in mind for them. as for me i likely wont use the clan Orion much if at all (i generally don't play clan mechs).

as for me these are my current builds (subject to alteration as i like experimenting)

BNC-3E(S)--- (3 L-PPCs, 2 UAC/5s (4 1/2t ammo), 1 AMS (1/2t ammo) running an LE-380 with 5 DHS and Endo)

had to strip the arms to get it to all fit but it has been preforming surprisingly well.

ON1-IIC-C(S)--- (2 ER LLs, 2 UAC/10s (3 1/2t ammo), 1 ATM-9 (2t ammo), 1 AMS (1/2t ammo) running an XL-300, 4 DHS, Endo, and FF)

its not likely that i will actually use this build but its there just in case. will likely cut out the ATM for more AC ammo and DHS. or maybe a pair of ER PPCs instead of the ER LLs (would still have some room left for ammo and DHS)

The Banshee makes a decent platform for 3xSNPPC + AC/20. With a light 325 engine it simply refuses to overheat even with ghost heat.

not a huge fan of brawling builds honestly, if i am that close then things have gone wrong or its close to the end of the match.


i did think about a UAC/10 instead of the 5s but given the mech doesn't have an Jam chances Quirks have the extra cannon means its less likely that i will be without most of my firepower when RN-jesus decides to curse me.

i don't care about meta, i just build something i think will be fun. my priorities with a build are in order hard point numbers/locations, Quirks, what fits. meta is boring. though i might look at that Orion build if i ever decide to use it.

i was actually surprised how well my Banshee build did as it felt under gunned for an Assault. just goes to show that raw alpha damage isn't everything.

I also am a fan of combining regular PPCs and AC/5’s, and the E can boat 3 and 2 respectively with decent heat and ammo. A bit under gunner, but solid at any range category other than “ah, it’s on my leg, get it off get it off!”

i did ac2s and lppcs for a moderate campy build. the onlion i keep the uac10s and put on some lpls. i put some srm2s on there in case i lose the guns, but in practice im running out of ammo so i might just dump the missiles.

Had a better time with both than I would have thought not particularly caring for heavy or assault mechs.

might want to do away with the normal AC2 as it splits you ammo. i know its just one slot but you can devote the saved weight and slots to ammo and a bigger engine and DHS. not criticism of you build just a suggestion is all. though as a T1 player you likely already know this.

Banshee seems to lean towards ACs and PPCs, so I'll go LMGs and ERSL, with a STD400 engine.

Orion seems like 2 UAC10 + 3xSRM6 makes sense, so I think 2 LMGs and 3 x LRM20 would be good.

If you want to go with the quirks more closely on the banshee then this will be a nice brawler as long as you have some teamwork going on.

Only (S) sign prevents me from just selling them to free mechbays. I don't like 'Mechs themselves. Banshee is way too ugly and Orion IIC just isn't interesting. But I have to admit, that previous year's Marauder was useful, because it shown me, how great IIC 'Mechs were, so I started to play them, instead of ignoring. They're the best of both worlds. Customizable like IS ones, but don't have that terrible ST death penalty and use Clan weapons.

what will I do to the new Mechs
well since I already have 2 of the same mechs I will grind both to 91 nodes

all the PPC's are to hot for an unskilled Mech
LPL look good but that is what I have on my other BNC-3E

so I have no choice 3 RAC2's and 4ERML's and AMS with 1 ton of ammo

The Orion IIC-CS don't know some type of missiles I would guess

edit: 41 drops to skill the BNC-3E
started right in on the Orion IIC-CS hopping for a quick win to get the X2 xp
on the 7th drop I got a win --brutal just brutal lol

oh I was looking to buy a clan active probe and the sale ends right when I was searching
