Hello all,

I'm new to the game and when I went to increase my screen size it went extremely large and I can no longer see the settings button or the top of the screen. Is there anyway to fix this?

Ooof, yes, there's a workaround... been a bit, lemme see if I can find it.

Ugh, there's a way to manually set resolution, but I'm not enough of a techie... Reinstalling would work, but that's annoying, and you might be on a metered connection or something.
  • Try your graphics card's control panel - if you're using nVidia, open up your GeForce Experience program and go to "Home."
  • MWO should be listed there; if it's not, click on the three vertical dots on the upper-right of the application window and select "scan for games and apps."
  • If it is, mouse over the picture, click on "details," and then look for the wrench icon (upper-right, above the list of settings.)
  • This will bring up a "Custom Settings" popup window, which will allow you to change MWO's resolution
  • Set the resolution to your monitor's display specs, and see if that fixes things.

ATI or other manufacturers will have a similar settings manager program.

you can also rename or edit the attributes.xml in your local profiles folder.
Usually this can be found in C:\Users\<youruser>\Saved Games\MechWarrior Online

that's the method I was trying to remember! I don't see that file in there, though... Ah, there's one in C:\Users\<youruser>\Saved Games\MechWarrior Online\Profiles\Default, though it doesn't have any information inside on resolution - is this the one he should change?

no, not the default profile. There should be one in each actual profile folder. Can't check rn, because of away from computer

Ah, I see it. Fracking Windows tries to be clever, and ends up concealing where I'm actually looking. Found what you were talking about - is this one of those things where he can delete it and the game will make another one? I don't see anything about resolution per se - though it does know I have a 17" monitor.

yes, the file can be deleted and the game will then use the default file. Should be a last resort measure, tho

Hopefully his graphics card control panel will fix it first. Thanks for the help!

Thanks for all the help. Using GeForce Experience worked the best. Is there a way to increase the UI size in the MechLab?

UI wasn't designed to scale beyond 1080p, sadly. And it's unlikely that this will change.
