Add Ability To Targed Allies To Gain Information About Them

In most singleplayer MechWarrior games player is able to targed his allies in order to see their current health and equipment status. For some reason this is inpossible to do in MWO, and in MWO this simple ability would make a big QoL improvement:

1) Targeting your allies will make teamwork MUCH easier, because now you will only have to quickly look through your teammates to locate the most problematic part of frontline and therefore will be able to quickly come and help your desperate ally. For now players have to physically ask teammates to come and help them, either through voice chat or text chat, because for some reason abou 80% of players actually do not pay any attention to "Help" command from voice command wheel. Being able to see health and status of teammates would help a lot, you could cover your ally from the damaged side, making him able to continue dealing damage, while you will act as his temporary shield, and so on.

2) Targeting allies and gaining info about their build would be super nice QoL improvement. It's seems to be such a basic and no-brainer thing in online game to be able to see what your allies use and what builds they bring to the battle, but sadly for now we have to physically ask people what loadout they have. Of course most of the time people answer, but when you see someone piloting an unpopular mech and want to know what build he uses, and suddenly you are engaged by enemies, or he is engaged by enemies and none of you can spend time typing or talking, it can be a bit annoying. And of coures people leave as soon as match ends, there's almost no time to ask to share builds after the end of game.

Please add the friendly targeting, it will only help and wont hurt anybody.

Please add the friendly targeting, it will only help and wont hurt anybody.

People have been asking for this feature for the last decade.

No success.

Any ideas of why is that so? That doesn't seem to be hard to code-in, nor does it seem to be harmful in any way...

People have been asking for this feature literally for the last ten years.

I have asked for this once or twice too, because I would like to see it in the game..

PGI has never bothered to reply, much less add it to the game.

What a shame. Why are they like this, when it comes to something simple, they rarely reply or take note, but when it comes to overrunning entier game balance with new untested weapons they're much more "trigger happy"

PGI has never explained why they are against the possibility of scanning of friendly 'Mechs.
