Hits that you take from the front, yet damage your back I have always believed were issues with Tickrate.
That and some mechs just have the right geometry and hitboxes for it to occur.

Something that has always left me scratching my head, is when from my perspective I get screenshake, and even the incoming effect of being hit, yet take zer0 damage.

Bad interpolation or sync with the server. It was notorious back in MW4 for you to miss visually for yourself and to your target visuals but still hit because of the fun of latency and the server being authoritative. The same can happen with visual hits.

I see it as well occasionally especially in high ping situations.. its why as an Aussie i exclude EU because over 400 ping tend to mess the servers up.. Its not PGI per say its its netcode i believe..

You need to check your settings. You might be playing with some very low Level of Detail settings or something that's causing objects to load in strangely.

Every once in a while I drop in a match

Things seem nice and fine and I fight, I have a 50 alpha, I alpha 5 times and get an unlucky ammo explosion and I die and it says I did 20 damage

Now, I can't imagine that this person honestly believes that the developers of this game have it out to get us.

Either way, sometimes damage just disappears into a black hole, and its frustrating, but there doesn't need to be a big conspiracy about this.

You make it sound like this happens often enough that if you start recording all your matches, you'll eventually catch it on video. So I'd recommend doing that.

95% chance it will show the problem is you not realizing something. Hitreg issues in this game are extremely rare.

I was in a match once where I was in my Marauder IIC Scorch, Firing at some sort of Urbanmech 10-20 meters in front of me. I unloaded my LBX20's times 2 and 4 srm6's, so 88 point alpha. Only to watch all of it explode on the mountainside behind the urbanmech

Then it just ran away....as I got cored out in the back by one of it's team mates.

Oh well, what can you do? lol

Or just took a hiatus out of frustration. He's obviously having bad matches, and that frustration is probably responsible for the crazy talk.
