Hello, forum users,

I just came back from a multiple-year break and started watching some footage from this year's competitive games and 1v1 tournaments. I know who I think the best player is (Arthen00 sticks out to me), but what do you all think? Curious to hear your voices.

No not really, he just goes for headshots mainly. Not that he's bad, but best player is a different consideration.

I'd say Bows3r, Chimera, Fission, Chickenman919, Magic Pain Glove, Bassault, dario03, Jiffy, JayZ, JP Jango, Monk Gyatso are the main ones that stick out to me.

There are also a number of players taking a break after a hard fought CS23, people like Geeram, ghost1e, poly cat, Grolsch, etc.

Don't mean to slight anyone I've left off, but the list generally draws from the likes of EmP/V1LE, JGx/5JDx, EQ, DSC.

Geeram is the best player in the game as of today.

There are a few who perhaps have better raw mechanics, but nobody else playing today can equal his combination of S-tier individual gameplay in all roles, in-game leadership/shotcalling, out-of-game theorycrafting/strategy and after-action analysis.

I don't believe there is a single person in the player pop who understands MWO to the same degree that he does. A few are close, but he has the edge over all of them and proof is in the pudding, IMO.

0% chance I go from unknown to gold badge in less than 2 years under anyone else's mentorship in MWO. Everyone on EQ worked their asses off last year and there's a ton of talented pilots on the roster, but he was the catalyst for everything we accomplished.

I’d say GeeRam. He has the most complete skill set of any player in the game right now.

There was this guy from EMP, he used to stream on twitch as well. He was excellent his name was Writhenn. Not sure if he still plays the game or perhaps changed his name.

You wont see them if you are in solo play. These players are all in Tier 1 PSR, and you are Tier 5 PSR. The highest PSR you can be matched with is Tier 3. The only way you can see them is if you are in a group and your teammates are in Tier 1 PSR, maybe.

To be honest though, don't worry about it. I see PSR not as any indicator of the person, but a system to try and place you into matches that will be more enjoyable for your level of play. There is nothing wrong with being in Tier 5, as long as you are having fun matches.
