I'm just sharing information beause i see a lot people also having problems with long loading times and many late-joiners being a problem:

TL;DR: A re-installation of MWO fixed the long loading times for me.

Give it a try if your game also seems unstable/slow upon loading into matches


Before the patch i was always in the first batch of people to load into a match - after it, i was in the third third most of the time which made me think that this can't be normal since i use relatively quick hardware imo. At least enough to crunch through the process in a timely manner.
Along with missing laser- and damage glow that occurred to me, regardless of the patch, i tried the good ol' re-install and voila!
Everything is like it was intended to be and back to normal again! \_[ö.ö.]_/

-Client: Steam
-OS: Win10 LTSC 21H2 Build 19044
-CPU: Ryzen 5600X
