Karee suggests making Spotting targeted and untargeted mechs as simple as just pressing 1 hot key.

Spotting shouldn't have to be done through a navigating submenu UI, especially since when a lot of the time mechwarriors want to spot something, said something is out of sensor range or ECM disruption/stealth is covering it.

It's legit one of the most insanely annoying things about this game is trying to get a spotting called on pretty much anything that's moving at all, and if it's small and fast, then that already monumentally hard task of attempting to spot them becomes nearly impossible.

I once made post about this, it would be nice if we could put each of those things on separate buttons.

Its nice having everything in one menu, but if we can just click one button to call for help, or sorry, or target enemy mech it would be great. Posted Image

That enemy target is super useful, you can use it on people who have ECM or stealth armour, it shows them on map, if they are hiding and waiting, or if they are moving away or back to their team.Posted Image

I think people dont know how awesome it is, because it can be problem to use when many things are happening at once, and they dont know how awesome it is because they dont use it.Posted Image

And they don't use it because they either:
Don't know it exists/does anything meaningful.
or
Hate dealing with the annoying menu, got frustrated, and stopped bothering to use it.

The second possibility is very understandable to Karee cause it's a bad design for spotting call outs, no sane person should ever reasonably expect someone else to use a piece of content if it's clunky, slow, and awful to deal with, especially in a moment of intense pressure.

In a games with similar ages with engines of around the same time period, spotting in most games is as quick and easy as 1 key press. believe the default hotkey for spotting call outs in most games is "Q"

So if we're going to go by the examples of other games, we could easily have the spotting call out's be a rebind-able one press hotkey with a default hotkey of Q or some other key close to WASD as the default key, easy and quick enough that even the teammate with the slowest reflexes can make use of it and in turn help the team track and fight enemy mechs.

It also messes with the aiming when using weapons like RACs or X-pulse lasers.

Also the sound effect could be reduced to a "Ding", to avoid spamming "Target spotted", in the case it gets a hotkey and becomes easier 12 people to spam it.

You can macro it for what thats worth, the "next command wheel order" is unbound but if you map that then you can macro; hold E, next, next. It will still pause the crosshairs for a bit, but faster than doing it manually.
It will "affirmative" if an enemy mech isnt in the crosshairs though, and do other misselects if Help is on cooldown or something.
