Beam Laser Quirks

What type of laser is a Beam Laser - for the application of quirks?
The Binary Laser gains any Standard Laser quirks, the X-Pulse lasers are ... duh... Pulse Lasers and gain their benefits. But Beam Lasers don't seem to gain HSL, range or heat benefits from quirks.
Ideas?

- Quirk Families: Laser, STD Laser
I think with clantech STD laser meant heavy and pulse lasers (and now beams) but not ER. There's at least 2 mechs that can use 3 beams: ON1-IIC and HGN-IIC. It should also benefit from all general, energy and laser range/heat etc quirks.
But any cooldown or duration skills/quirks will do nothing.

I dont know why they wouldnt just leave it at laser family then. There arent any clan mechs with the quirk either. I remember there was discussion about this earlier but dont remember where or what the reason was. Might be some technical reasons.

The problem with the Beam Laser is that it doesn't do a lot of damage, but it requires you to spend a lot of time facing the enemy. The heat also ramps up substantially.
Ideally I'd like to find a Mech that leans into the quirks the way the Nightstar 10P is overpowered for RACs.

The LPL HSL wont work for beams. I had some success in the Highlander IIC with 3 beams and a gauss rifle.
Nightstar 10P aint OP with RACs. If you want something similar with beams you want HSL, range or heat quirks. You also need other weapons in most of the builds. DWF-A has big heat quirks and energy HSL in SO8, but it's a bit underwhelming with SO8 omnipods. Gargoyle A too, but same issues.

I dunno.. this doesn't look completely terrible, all depends on how it plays.
Never have been a DireWhale fan though. at least not in MWO.

I think it was one of the Marauder IIC variants, it could use 3 Heavy Large lasers with no HSL penalty.
But I think they've amended the quirk name on it.
