Hello Mechwarriors

The Griffin Ares is a pitiful mess

Please help me help you!

We need to come together as 5 fingers make a fist!

The Mission: Buff the grf-ar

Its so bad. How can it be called the Ares aka GOD OF WAR

Its energy mounts are in the arms, and it can only wield 3 snubs or 4 lppcs while keeping decent speed and heat

The missile mounts, there only only 2.

If you are gonna give it ppc quirks, make it +2 heat sink limit

I dont care what you do, Just make the thing somewhat viable, please!

Holy St. Francis of Assisi, its so bad

The loadout of the mech is fine. What makes it a rough ride is its sheer size and hit boxes. Its easy to score a hit against this large mech, and difficult to twist the damage away. This goes for all the Griffins, not just Ares, and is a big part of the reason you don't see them too often on the battlefield.

Since they can't reduce the size of the model, they need to give it more armor/structure quirks. IMHO

Yea, unless you run missiles, you cant use your arms to twist because then you lose your weapons. So much better missile quirks or what you said: armor/ structure

HS is the abbreviation for Heat Scale in the context of Ghostheat, not Heatsink, by the way.

-50% MRM duration, +1 energy HSL for the Ares

General buff for all Griffin mechs.
20% structure and 8-10% armor across entire body +25% turn rate ( Torso twist seems ok), and 5% base speed

That would make griffins about where they should be, maybe even slightly competitive vs the VEagle. but that is a stretch.

I have played mostly the 1S variant with a MRM40, 4 medium lasers and JJ of course. What I find useful is taking a few skill nodes of torso speed and anchor turn. This really helped me playing the Griffin. More armor would be great though.
