Did you see the extra B-Roll gameplay footage we sent to media as well?
NGNGTV as well https://youtu.be/Gg4...ODO56zI-0vAOhv1
TTB covered it here https://youtu.be/hGU...5SXFlpVYdYm4nQY
The intention of the Teaser Trailer was to give players a taste of the Cinematic story telling. (which is awesome BTW)
The B-Roll was to show off the hand crafted story mission / levels and some of the new features Scanning, Command Wheel, and Battle grid.

Did I understand correctly that the instructor's video with mechwarriors is essentially a cut scene on the game engine and will all the videos be of this quality throughout the entire campaign?

There may be a difference between the story trailer & the actual demo. If you look at NGNG's commentary of the demo at 0:37, where it shows the loading screen, there is a different Star composition. It looks like 2 men & 3 women. Things may be fluid.

Interesting that this has been brought up here. There was a lengthy discussion about this in the Clan Chatterweb board on the official BattleTech forum going back and forth about gender identity within the Clans. The thread there was locked, probably getting too much RL involved, not sure. It's an interesting read: https://bg.battletec...p?topic=84406.0

on this site, the MWO site, half the news are mechwarrior 5 news, why?
i, of course, understand that the two games are from the same developer, that they share many assets, etc... but would it be so difficult to post those news only to the dedicated mw5 website?

It seems to me that you are wrong.
There are three MechWarrior 5: Mercenaries / MechWarrior 5: Clans news ... and six MechWarrior Online news. One announcement is mixed - one half about MWO, the other half about MW5.
So not "half the news are mechwarrior 5 news", but only 35% of all news are MechWarrior 5 news.
And that is just because a new MW5 expansion pack was published and new MW5 installment announced.
Otherwise there have been weeks and months without any MW5 news.

Because in the trailer, the Smoke Jaguar warriors look more like DCMS Soldiers, instead of Smoke Jaguar Warriors:

There will also be minimal RPG elements in the game. Confirmed.

And yet, although the shape was changed externally, it looks more like the original, and a pure gray one would be boring. The Syndicate of Dragons has, firstly, white, and secondly, there are elements of green. Big deal, they added red stripes, but it looks beautiful. The theme of raincoats and the old form is no longer relevant and would look badly.
I like how PGI made the uniform. Not a banal gray one.

I've got nothing wrong with PGI modernizing the Smoke Jaguar uniforms, I just wish that the people looked more like Smoke Jaguar warriors instead of Kuritan soldiers. I think add some pure gray with white and red piping could work. Kind of a blend between new and old.

For example, the uniforms were not exactly accurate (but close) in MechCommander 2. I had no problem with it, since I cared about the overall playability more.

As for playability, I hope that PGI adds more missions like convoy escort, Zellbrigen and other interesting modes. I also hope we get to see a more flexible mechlab than the one we got in MW5: Mercs.

2) As for zellbrigen, I would not expect too much. I guess that PGI will probably go with the easiest way: The less tonnage you use, the higher pay (resource points / honour) you will get.
3) As for the Mechlab, we shall see.

Hoping there are handy hotkeys to supplement the command wheel...some of us are definitely not command wheel people.
Lance command looks well done, nice to have good lance command.
If its a single player game, hopefully the mechlab is very flexible; I do miss Mechwarrior 3's ability to completely mix and match any chassis/weapons/equipment. Had so much fun back then with and Inner Sphere Annihilator packed with Clan ERPPC's, Clan DHS, Clan targeting computer with aiming reticle....
Definitely more interested in the game after seeing the gameplay footage.
