I just realized I have been playing this game for ten years. MWO's development has gone though many stages and many disappointments, but despite them all I am still here, playing. So this is the perfect time to say thank you to the developers for everything they've done right enough for me to be here still.
So honestly, while MWO is far from perfect it's more than good enough. So a heartfelt congratulations and thank you to the developers.

I came back to MWO earlier this year after a 6 year break, and and my biggest thought was basically "Woah! It's still running!" I was really impressed as I caught up and learned they've introduced new maps and new weapons and such.
Props to PGI for keeping it all going this long.

It's true that I discovered MWO very late, in 2019, but I immediately fell in love with the game. Even though I hate and even despise online FPS, MWO has something that makes me still play it with pleasure. It's not a perfect game for many reasons, but the most important thing is that it exists at all and I'd like to thank PGI for that

Also thank you mwo devs for utterly destroying the reaper 2 on launch and creating a horrible disappointment for anyone interested in the lore surrounding the actual red reaper.

I have probably played this more than any other game. It has its flaws but overall I have always had fun.

I've been playing for over 10 years on and off at this point. I'm getting older and don't game much any more. MWO is the only game I still play.
Its pretty chill so you can listen to talks/podcasts as you're playing it, but it still takes lots of skill to move aim and twist well. It has infinite replayability. There are so many ways to play this game and experiment and most of them are viable too! You can do well and contribute with almost any normal build.
The free to play aspect is phenomenal. Virtually unprecedented in 2024. Everything is given out for free even MC, mechbays, paints and decals. There's no pay to win aspect. You have the legendary mechs sure, but other then being quirky they're not OP. There's no tech trees to follow, you can unlock and access everything from the get go. Its not grindy unless you personally make it so. I have 78 mechs and 84 mechbays a few dozen paints and a crap ton of decals and the only thing I've ever bought was the Moonwalker (im a broke *** guy).
The community is not bad. The forums can get pissy and dumb and we're all smartasses, but overall people help eachother out, there's decent debate and good info. Ingame there's rarely any issues. There's fun players to watch and follow like Baradul, BrioS, Sean Lang and others.
It was on the brink of death and it got a second chance at life during lockdown. On top of all of that the people that are left running it really care.
This game is brilliant. I would say its one of my favorite games I've ever played if not the most favorite and I played a lot of stuff over the years.
I love MWO.

I couldn't agree more
Like all things though, I occasionally wish things were done slightly differently
Of course personal bias aside ( if one would play devil's advocate and call it that)
Mwo is magic. It has a certain something that keeps us all coming back for more
Still, one can hope for the next iteration of mwo pvp to bring even greater battletech lore and gameplay pleasure

MWO is not my most played game, but it is close. The MW/BT series of games combined have more hours than anything else, making up a good portion of junior high, high school, university, career... and with how things are going, probably my retirement.
