Okay everyone, the patch is about to drop, and I haven't bought the Bull Shark pack yet. I want to see what these mechs can do. I want to see high scores, and I want to hear testimonials about how easy it is to take out their side torsos. And fill the assault mech section with build ideas.

You have your marching orders, that is all. Posted Image

you'll have to wait a couple of hours.

Yup. But the thread's here for folks to use.

Starting drops now... over 50% assault mechs in queue. Sounds about right. Posted Image

I haven't bought it either but I have seen a lot of them in-game today. So far I'm not finding them to be too scary, even killed one in a Roughneck. They are very wide and are mostly getting shot in the centre torso. One player said he thought they were XL-safe but in the next drop I saw one killed via XL check Posted Image .

That was today, who knows what will happen when players get the hang of them.

The -5's quirks look interesting (ballistic and energy heat scale limit +1).

Good hunting,
CFC Conky

Yeah, day one was not the best proving ground for them. I saw a lot of pilots who... how shall I say... had less battlefield awareness than myself... overheating and shutting down their bull sharks all over the place.

Tuned into Phil's NGNG stream later and watched him run Bull Sharks all evening. The BSK-5 is indeed a MAD-4L without the ECM, so dual ERPPC and dual Gauss suits it fine. And watching Phil ride the heat scale in a Mako with 2 HAG30's and 4 HLL was scary.

So I put a crowbar in my wallet and picked up the Collector Pack. It's a strong mech although I wouldn't call it OP, basically a tankier Madcat MkII. I'm avoiding builds with XL engines at the moment, opponents will focus it and XL checks are a thing. The arms don't get shot too often so even if you equip weapons and/or ammo in them you can still shave some armour off them for other stuff. Legs are very beefy so you can shave some there too.

TTB has posted some good builds to YT.

Good hunting,
