Just woke up today, and played a match..
Decided to check muh jarls, and I was in the top 500 last month.
First time I've ever been in the top 500 so it's kind of a milestone, I guess.
Feels good.

Congratz. What mediums were you playing during that season?

on one hand congrats.

on the other hand, look at jarls global stat player numbers. we loose any more and i will be in the top 500. though im probably counted as a retired player with how few games i play (average games/season is also really low).

Mostly Cicada 3F, but also a little Hunchback 4G, because these forums got me wanting to play it.

Nice. They really gave cicada some love these last few patch cycles. Most of them are decent to good now.

Not to take away from his accomplishment but yeah the top crust of players have been steadily moving on especially this first half of 2024. The overall bar to getting top jarls has certainly lowered. But thats fine we will just get new top jarls and the fun continues.

We gained about 400 players last month, about 700 players over the past 2 months.

Yes and lost a fair few top tier players that heavily skew the leaderboards. Rejoice! You are now the new royalty!

we lost 4000 800 (was looking at the wrong year) since this time last year. though i dont really look at new players, because so few of them seem to stick. if anything the ones that do stick, assuming they arent alts, just replace the old ones who are retiring to other games.

it does however seem like 16k is becoming the new status quo. at some point you will reach a terminal cutoff at which point there wont be enough people to sell mech packs too in order to keep servers up. it also seems like events have slowed.

You have to not play in three seasons in a row to count as retired. 90 days.

Thats not unique players though. Players cycle in and out of the queue all day long even if the general population numbers stay roughly the same. As per last snapshot we have around 16~20k active.
