I'm getting lower FPS than before. I know the game is CPU heavy, but my god my turbo-boosting gaming is at 91 C, with 48 FPS.

If the processor is weak, the most effective solution is to reduce the quality of shadows and particles.

Aside from Chrome, not really.
If you've got youtube running while playing, that's your issue. If you have any adblock going, youtube is an even worse resource hog. Google's war against adblock is real.

No, that is not necessarily true.

The game runs on one core so if its spiking your temps to 91c that sounds like its time for a repaste.

And a thorough cleaning of the heatsink itself. though.... I think he may still be on a laptop though. - Acer Aspire V3 574G - though both dismantling, new thermal paste and clearing out any dust buildup would help. And.... in 2019 he was looking for a new laptop, and he posted that he had replaced the thermal pasting. Dang, is he still running that Acer, which should be approaching 10 years old.
Do you disable Turbo boost back then? Or did you re-enabled Turbo Boost? With some Windows update, if you did have it disabled the settings may have been changed back to default.
Disable Turbo Boost setting to 98% or 97% - https://www.tautvida...el-turbo-boost/
And if you haven't yet, potentially utilize a program to manually control your fans - such as NoteBook FanControl.

Pretty sure that doesn't have turbo-boost. I've been gaming in a Predator Helios 300 2020 for 3 years now.
Have to go a lot older to when Turbo Boost didn't exist. Non-Pentium CPU systems actually had a turbo button to boost the CPU speeds. Turbo Boost works with 2008+ CPU., And Acer Aspire V3 574G had Turbo Boost
Max Turbo Frequency 2.70 GHz
Intel® Turbo Boost Technology 2.0 Frequency‡ 2.70 GHz
Processor Base Frequency 2.20 GHz
So you did purchase a new laptop!! Basic theme from the mfg forums to Reddit. Laptop-wise, CPU hitting 90*C isn't the issue, it is how that heat affects other system components and degrading them, especially the battery.

Total Threads 8
Max Turbo Frequency 3.80 GHz
