When playing MWO I get "Server connection lost frequently" When it does this Discord and other apps don't disconnect. I've replaced the onboard network chip with a Network card. This did not help. I then replaced the Modem / router, still have disconnects. I've also enabled both ethernet and wifi to no effect. Please let me know if you have any ideas on fixing this. I've been playing since day one, and don't want to stop. Thanks

Wrong sub-forum, as this will get lost in the general noise of this sub-forum :)

Are you being dropped back to the mechbay or to desktop? Reason for the question is that you are required to be connected to one server, the authentication server, all the time, and losing this connection will drop you back to the desktop. Then there are the three game servers on different continents, and losing JUST this connectivity will usually drop you back to the mechbay. Do you have all three servers selected? Have you tried to keep track, if you are dropped back into the mechbay, which server it is?
  • And all of that equipment was actually replaced, even though other programs/sites were not having any connectivity issues? With same brand/model and by your provider?
    • If the issue was primarily due to the equipment, it may not have been the hardware itself but the software portion of it, especially the router or gateway (combo router/modem). And if ISP owned, some items may be locked down, or an update to the gateway may have changed/tighten some of the new default security settings.
    • Security settings - Brand/modem of gateway or router? You would be looking at disabling (for troubleshooting/testing only for now) its own build-in software security (not the NAT)
  • ISP and general location? Have you check forums for your ISP, for potential issues other gamer using the same provider may be running into?
  • And you have a VPN to use? If not then utilize a few free VPN to test/troubleshoot, testing different VPN servers.
    • A VPN has the potential of re-routing the game's connectivity around problematic router management systems, or prevent throwing a flag within your provider's network that triggers a temporary portal closure.
    • Search for best free VPN, mileage will vary but the intention is initially for troubleshooting purposes.
  • Or if you have a smartphone and your cell provider allows it to be used as a hotspot, test by connecting your internet connection through your mobile network instead of your ISP network.
