Patch Files (Direct Download)
To make the patching process easier for players with limited download caps, we'll be providing direct download links for the patch file(s) that comprise this patch. This will allow you to download the patch file(s) elsewhere, for manual injection into the MWO patcher through a Patch Cache folder.

Aside from allowing you to download the patch file(s) elsewhere, on another connection, there are no additional benefits to performing the patch this way; the patching process itself will be the same.

This direct patch download process will only work for players running the standalone client. It does not apply to players running MWO through Steam.

  • Download the above file(s)
  • For sake of ease, we recommend creating a dedicated folder for the patch file(s), such as 'MWO Patch Cache'
  • You do not need to unzip or unpack the patch file(s)
  • Launch the MWO Portal
  • Select the three horizontal lines in the top left of the Portal Window
  • Choose the 'Specify Patch File Cache' option
  • In the field that appears, paste or enter the location in which you saved the patch file(s) and hit OK
  • For example, C:\Users\<username>\Documents\MWO Patch Cache
  • Click the blue Patch button
  • The launcher will now check the Patch Cache folder you defined. If it locates the required patch files, it will unpack and use those files to apply the patch
  • Once the patch is complete, launch the game

The Argent looks great and it's a King Crab with ECM and decent quirks. Looks like I'll be buying my first legendary mech.

Just came back to the game recently.
Q: Is there any downside to buying older legendary mechs?

I know with mech pre-releases you missed out on some bonuses if you bought them later. But it looks like you still get the battlepass and everything for the same price.

No there is no disadvantage to buying older legendary mechs you will get the same rewards as you would if you bought them when they were released just make sure to check the reward page once you buy the mech.. pre-order bonuses are only for mech packs....at least so far to my knowledge.

so the battlepass is the same weather you bought it when the mech was released or now, so as long as the website is up you can get all the rewards from any legendary mech.

The only possible "downside" is buying them *at full price* since older ones do go on sale now sometimes (including Battlepass). We've seen the first...some I can't remember how many go on sale for 20% off. So if you want one of those, might keep an eye out for that.

I wish the ECM was in the CT. The extra slot in the ST could've been used for HPPC + large ballistic combo.

I usually buy Legendaries on Steam and I've seen them on sale a number of times. Pretty sure when PGI announces a sale on Legendary Mechs, it's on both Steam and the MWO website.

More armor on Linebackers. Why not. Because 12 x 4 Linebacker rushes weren't enough of a thing.

Dunno...
A KGC should display some more skills and opportunities... The basic loadout is lackluster...
Anyone who may buy this sure would turn it to a Gauss-crab (sorry, that ECM cries for it)...

Wait! Thunderbolts cause cockpit shake on hit?
Sorry, that's new for me...

I realize this is CW concern, but even there, when was the last time a Linbacker rush was a real concern? 2018 maybe? In QP the Linebacker is one of the easiest to kill heavies, and one of the most under gunned, and load out limited mechs in the game. This buff has been a long overdue (imo, should have happened back when the Black Lanner took its role).
