I don’t have to go into detail. Simply said, abusing exploits, cheating, and hacking can utterly destroy the game and the community along with it. Once that door is open, and if the devs cant close it, then the game ceases to be the level playing field where skill is honored.. ruined except for few people who don’t care. It would also cease to be the community’s venue. MWO would become a farce and many thousands will abandon a game. It would be, arguably, the greatest disappointment in the history of BT. One person who feels it’s their right to use hacks and exploits is all it takes. The game code is not a puzzle for you to crack. MWO is not another game system to defeat. And exploits are not hidden codes or power ups.
Now let’s talk about preventing a worst case scenario. There *will* be some who want to use the latest trainer or hack. It starts with the devs and their hard work keeping the code secure and the game mechanics air tight. Then its up to us the players who want to see MWO live on for years uncompromised. Not only should we reject them (right?) but we have to vigilant and report not just hacks and exploits but also bugs. Don’t give in to using them. Skill.. remember.
The question is, what kind of pilot are you? Player looking for every advantage including hacks, trainers, exploits? A bug or two..anything for that edge? “Why not, other people use them on me."
