I'd like to log a formal disagreement with whomever decided that the UM-R80 be obligated into the "Heavy PPC" mono-role:

If you would please consider changing the "Heavy PPC cooldown" to "PPC Cooldown" , Even at the expense of the heat reduction bonus, it would be an improvement.

Simply Put: I have close to 2 thousand hours in this mech.

At best the mech goes into battle missing 1 ton of armor. This (on an XL) gives the mech 9 tons of
weapon space, a BAP (Which is what this mech was designed for) and it is *not* optional equipment.

Surprisingly, you can do an extraordinarily diverse load-out with this many tons.

Under no XL (which there is no point in doing on this mech, I assure you) you are looking at mounting 5 medium or er medium lasers.

Back to the point under 9 tons, you are looking at any number of configurations.
If you go with the most straight forward kit:

1 Large Laser or LL
4 Medium Lasers

-1 ton of armor.

(Smoothest poke, has long range LL to harrass)

- This performs in a very average way with the other basic bonuses of the chassis. Gives the cleanest Alpha strikes, and has average exposure time out of cover to deliver a shot.

The most dangerous escort build for assisting heavies is:

1 Light PPC (for breaking ECM)
1 TAG (for more ECM Break which is what this mech is designed to do)
3 Medium Lasers
1 Laser AMS (because point scouts that are doing ECM do not want to be "narc'd" "

- 0.5 ton of armor

If you are actually doing what the builds suggested role is under the "Heavy PPC bonus" you are actually running:

ER PPC +4 Small lasers to defend yourself with
or
a Snub and 4 small lasers and full armor (again to defend yourself with)
or
Snub + light PPC
(because they work under any range and you can *defend yourself* some instead of be completely dead in the water which is what a heavy PPC will get you)

If you would please consider readjusting the Mechs bonuses back to its old ones which it has been a couple of years, but I believe 15% PPC cooldown 10% energy heat (among the rest) it would be far more versatile without having to sacrifice its jump capability and armor to fit a role that never existed because 3 light PPC's will outperform a Heavy PPC every/single/time both in terms of heat management and tonnage. And most importantly, self defense.

Thank you
