Isn't changing your nickname a paid process? How can a person change their nickname every 10 minutes?

and besides, these are very stupid nicknames.

Today I get hit in the head and die. After a match I see 2 nicknames in the game related to this. What kind of nonsense is this?

If I want to insult someone I can do better than that.
I wonder if I'm playing with bots?

There is no game cost to creating a new account. For accounts, they come with one free name change but after that it does cost some MC.

I mean, are some people constantly opening new accounts? This is even more ridiculous.

But they are restricted on what they can do, chat-wise in game and forums, and restricted to Trial mechs unless they utilize RL money to fund their enjoyment.

And slight correction!! And per the Name Change option, support has to be contacted now. Unknown when that went into effect.

Manually changing names is not available at this time, to change your pilot name please contact Support. The first change is free, but all subsequent changes are subject to a non-refundable cost of 4,500 MC.

Uhm... What are you talking about? The last that I had known, all created New Player Accounts get to start with 4 Mech Bays in their possession so that they can work up the (C-Bills) and later along get those first self-stored Mechs for fighting with. If those have been taken away from New Player Accounts for any reason, then that would force me to never recommend MechWarrior Online to anyone else in the world ever again. Who would want to play MWO if it forced upon them not having anything without either earning enough (MC) or paying Real $$$ for gathering their first Mech Bays with anyway? If things had been like that back when I started playing, then it is a definite I would absolutely not be here now! :o

Please put on your glasses, or may be ya need a new prescription :) I didnt say anything about mechbays, I said new players are restricted to trial mechs then the account is created, i.e. said players would not have a pick of their mechs unless they spend RL funds when the account is opened up. And those four mechbays are empty until mechs are purchased one way or another, or earned via events, OR someone else uses RL funds and gifts said player with mechs.

Reviewing the current trial mechs, they are actually pretty decent atm. Previous Trial sets have been a hit/miss. And with a different email addy, you can create a new account to double check on those 4 mechbays. :)

Your earlier post had me reading a bit much into the scope of it. By using the word "restricted" there, it gave me the impression that players were no longer allowed to simply build up a stack of (C-Bills) and get their first few Mechs via extremely basic normal gameplay. Admittedly that can be considered a potential horrible misconception on my part, but you have to realize the door was sitting wide open for such madness upon re-reading your earlier posting.
