Thats mostly due to the way they set the light source since its basically high noon and everything is evenly lit. This map needs a far more slanted light source to break up the colors with some shadows.

Funny thing, but, I guess, for now map doesn't have any lighting at all. That's why it feels like HL1.

There is a light source you can see shadows directly under the trees and mechs. But its set at high noon. Needs to be much lower in the sky to have long shadows thrown off objects.

I haven't loaded yet, but I already understood from the landscape above and the introductory screenshots that this is another sniper trash. I'm sure it was the same for you!
An absolutely uncomfortable map, where you lose all your durability from sniper builds while trying to get to the enemy.
It all comes down to the fact that half of your team is just standing behind the only hill and waiting WAITING waiting (for the enemy to make a mistake).

So far, been trying the bane. Every single game on Luthien I've been left behind by the team and within first 2 squares ganked by fast movers. Needs to be a way to stop that as your team won't stop!

BrioS said the same thing. I totally agree. From what I've seen from YouTube vids. The map totally favors long range and snipers, and there's a need for more cover, or better places to elude snipers, etc. Just saying.

I've been fighting mid-short range just fine. Maybe I've had games with few snipers? Posted Image

I love this map.

It's well designed, and intricate without being claustrophobic, the sight lines are easy to use, and there is plenty of routes to maneuver.

If I had to give one complaint, the over use of "natural" rock bridges, they simply aren't that common in nature. Put in a "manmade" bridge, if you must have a bridge.

ETA: It's not just this map that the "natural" bridges are over used on.

i have now been able to play the map twice (once in my 4 ML, thunderbolt 40 Nightstar-hero, once in my 2 S.B. Guass, 6 ML Bullshark-5) both i started on the same side of the map and both had the main fight in roughly the same spot (nothing bad there just how it worked out).

i can say that the Thunderbolts were doable rather well, not easy but not super frustrating either with a number of good lanes to fire with a little maneuverability. as for the S.B. build it was a bit tougher but that was more on team actions making it hard not to be the single target of enemy fire (the usual cowering behind a rock after one blue laser sniper took a few pot shots and one C-LRM or ATM mech fired one burst.). i managed alright in the second but not as well as i would have hoped. i figure a little more practice on the map and it wouldn't be a bad one. as long as they don't do the ******** like they did to Marick.

honestly the map popped on the selection screen in all 6 or 7 matches i played the day of this post. sadly the new map was only selected twice (all the others but one were on Mining. and the one other map was Rubilite. i hate Mining almost as much as i hate Solaris but for differing reasons.)

I dunno why people say stuff like this before actually playing the dang thing.

Same reason they got MWO banned as a topic on the Star Citizen forums- or mounted a hilariously failed disinformation campaign at the Steam launch. Some people are more invested in the dopamine hit from being mad than they are in playing the game. It's nearly always the same set of people, though they gradually tend to drift away for real.

While map isn't super bad, it's also isn't good, because it's snipe-biased, as always. It's about having 2-3 big walls, separated by river.
