Can someone in authority slap the individual whose idea it was to mess with the tonnage limits for the lances and undo the idiocy please and thank you?

It's a real pain in the posterior when me and my friends can't play all our favorite mech's cause we are either all below or over tonnage and we have to play mechs we hate.

My point is this system was made to forbid 4 pilots premades to stack assault mechs and crushing the enemy by coordination and sheer tonnage. It's probably not perfect, but it was made for a reason, the game was waaaaay worst when groups could do anything they wanted.

My friends and I loved to do a lance of lights and wolf pack but we can't now due to the tonnage minimum

This system also has been made to prevent the 4 Pirate's Bane group ^^
But as far as I remember the minimum tonnage limit is not really strict, If I remember correctly you can do 4 Urbies (4x30t).

edit: don't exactly know when you and your friends usedto do that, this system has been here for years. (or you're posting from a new account for some reason)

Are you sure you can't do 4 Adders? If I remember correctly the minimum tonnage for a group of 4 is 120 tons, so 30 tons average per mech.

4-man min was changed from 120 to 160, or 4*40 back in October 2024 patch.

GAMEPLAY ADJUSTMENTS
Quickplay Group changes:
3 man quick play group minimum tonnage increased from 80 to 120.
3 man quick play group maximum tonnage reduced from 255 to 210.

4 man quick play group tonnage minimum increased from 120 to 160.
4 man quick play group tonnage maximum reduced from 280 to 240.

3- and 4-man premades had a significant disbalancing effect, when dropping too light or too heavy. Such effect was even more pronounced when it happened in the same game.

That was the reason behind the adjustment of those tonnage limits two months ago.

Still sucks cause it makes it so we can't play our favorite mechs so my original statement stands.
